Thank you everyone for the great reception for this new project.
Back now for the second day - 14 February. A day many on Hive will well remember last year.
But that 'big surprise' in 2020 is not the only crypto event that has taken place on 14 Febuary.
I have been busy researching today and found a number of new happenings in February including one for the 14th.
Remember I am still offering free HIVE for any keen and eager 'Date Finders'.
14 February 2020 - Tron & Steemit Partnership Announced
The news first broke on Twitter with a tweet at 4.08pm UTC from Tron owner Justin Sun...
#TRON and
will create further value for users and augment their advancements in #decentralized technologies.
This partnership further empowers @Tronfoundation’s title as the #blockchain industry’s leader in distributed ledger technology.
This linked to an article from Tron on Medium...
Steemit Inc., the largest decentralized blockchain-based social media and blogging platform, announced a strategic partnership with TRON Foundation. TRON and Steemit’s development teams will immediately begin working together to bring Steemit and other Steem blockchain based DApps to TRON blockchain and its community of over 20 million users, products, and services.
Justin Sun had bought the assets of Steemit Inc, and its large STEEM stake, from owner Ned Scott.
This 'partnership' set in motion a chain of events that led, in a few weeks time, to the forking of the Steem blockchain and the formation of Hive guided by the large majority of the previous top witnesses.
The full story can be followed in more detail in the Steem News editions of that, and subsequent, days...

14 February 2019 - JP Morgan creates 1st US bank cryptocurrency
US investment bank JP Morgan announced that it had created a cryptocurrency to help settle payments between clients in its wholesale payments business.
JPM Coin, as it was being called, was the first digital currency to be backed by a major US bank. It had a fixed value redeemable for one US dollar, and was not to be traded freely like Bitcoin.
JP Morgan said it saw potential in using digital coins to reduce risk and enable instant transfers, even though chief executive Jamie Dimon had publicly criticised Bitcoin on several occasions describing it as a "fraud," "stupid" and "far too dangerous" to people who traded it.
Much smaller New York bank Signature Bank disputed JP Morgan's 'first US bank' claim for this by pointing out that they had begun handling transactions for business clients on their own blockchain platform on 1 January.
News Corp owned newspaper Barron's declared that the move by JPM Morgan would be a major blow to the future development of Bitcoin...
Help the Project and earn HIVE
Researching This Day in Crypto History is quite a major undertaking.
I have so far found notable events for nearly half the days of the year and I am continually discovering more.
To ensure there are not any 'empty days' it would be great if anyone can contribute more events - particularly for the days I am missing in the next few weeks...
February 16th, 17th, 21st, 26th, 27th
March 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th
I will pay 1 HIVE (until further notice) for events on any of these days that I use in the daily posts.
The events will have to be notable enough, with links to reputable websites for verification. Events can be posted in comments below or sent to me on Discord (Pennsif#9921).
I am continually finding new events so I will attempt to keep the 'empty days' list updated.
For days where I already have some events I will still pay 0.5 HIVE for additional events that I haven't found already. You can either wait for the days to be published or send the events to me and I will let you know if I already have them (you will have to trust me on that !).
I hope people enjoy reading these little snippets of crypto history.
Piecing it altogether day by day is absolutely fascinating and I do hope others will be able to join in and contribute to some days.
Tomorrow is sorted but I so far have drawn a blank for the 16th - anyone found anything for that day?
Thank you.
