This is becoming an all absorbing project - digging deep into the likes of the Bitcointalk forum to uncover little gems of crypto history.
Despite adding a dozen or so new events each day, 16 February is still eluding me.
I will be super grateful for anyone who can find something for the 16th to save me having to draw a first blank.
In the meantime for 15 February we have Ned and Justin's DLive AMA, Joker’s Stash, the mobile gifting app Swych and Liechtenstein Post Office.
15 February 2020 - Justin Sun & Ned Scott DLive AMA
Following the announcement the previous day that the TRON Foundation and Steemit Inc were entering into a Strategic Partnership the respective company owners Justin Sun and Ned Scott did a live AMA on DLive.
The response from the Steemit community was mixed.
Leading commentator posted his video response on 3Speak...
Immediately following the AMA top 20 witness hosted a Witness Forum on MSP Waves.
A summary of the Witness Forum, as well as responses to the DLive AMA, can be found in Steem News...

15 February 2021 - Stolen Credit Card Marketplace Joker's Stash Shuts Down
One of the leading darknet marketplaces for stolen credit cards, Joker's Stash, finally shut down after making over $1 Billion in Bitcoin.
The exact reason for the closure of the site has not been revealed but increasing pressure and investigation from the FBI and Interpol may have been a factor. Web domains and blockchain addresses associated with the site were seized by law enforcement in 2020.
It is also understood that the site admin Joker's Stash caught Covid-19 the previous October.
Research by Gemini Advisory found that the darknet marketplace added more than 40 million new stolen card records in the past year.
15 February 2019 - Mobile Gifting Company Swych Accepts Cryptos
Dallas-based mobile gifting company Swych announced it will be accepting cryptocurrencies for payments. The currencies accepted include Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Ethereum Classic.
Founded in 2015 by Deepak Jain the popular app allows people to buy virtual gift cards from over 600 well known retailers such as Old Navy, Macy’s, Nike, Target, Best Buy, Gap, Banana Republic, Nordstrom and Amazon.
15 February 2019 - Liechtenstein Post Office Starts Selling Bitcoin
Liechtenstein, a German-speaking microstate sandwiched between Switzerland and Austria, began selling Bitcoin over the counter in its main Post Office in the capital Vaduz.
The Post Office offers fiat-to-crypto exchange services only. After making a purchase, buyers will receive a physical crypto wallet including private and public keys.
Liechtensteinische Post was founded in 1999 and is managed by Swiss Post, the national postal service of Switzerland.
Liechtenstein and Switzerland are amongst the countries in the world that have the highest crypto adoption rates.
Help the Project and earn HIVE
Researching This Day in Crypto History is a major undertaking.
I have so far found notable events for nearly half the days of the year and I am continually discovering more.
To ensure there are not any 'empty days' it would be great if anyone can contribute more events - particularly for the days I am missing in the next few weeks...
February 16th, 17th, 21st, 26th, 27th
March 2nd, 4th, 5th
I will pay 1 HIVE (until further notice) for events on any of these days that I use in the daily posts.
The events will have to be notable enough, with links to reputable websites for verification. Events can be posted in comments below or sent to me on Discord (Pennsif#9921).
I am continually finding new events so I will attempt to keep the 'empty days' list updated.
For days where I already have some events I will still pay 0.5 HIVE for additional events that I haven't found already. You can either wait for the days to be published or send the events to me and I will let you know if I already have them (you will have to trust me on that !).
That's another day in the bag.
Hope you found today's selection interesting.
Thank you.
