It's no lies that since the official announcement of the cashless policy late last year we have been experiencing difficulty in our daily transaction which has become a tussle between the elites and the uneducated business owners. Some of the uneducated business owners are people who sell petty in the environment. They are ones that bring selling goods and services to your doorstep. Meaning if you need either of goods and services, you don't have to go far before you get the goods or services to be rendered to you. That's the state we found ourselves.
Far way back in the olden days, we have heard about trade by batter had been helping to our forefathers going about their daily transaction. Where in one or the other there's no means of transaction than exchanging goods for goods without the involvement of cash or currency. Ever since the existence of using currency in exchange for goods and services, trade by batter has reduced but still in existence.
What's trade by batter and it found it way back to the Nigeria exchange and transactions system.
Trade by batter seems to be the means of exchanging goods for goods, services for services without literally the involvement of cash, money or currency. Since the cashless policy has been of something we have to cope with in Nigeria due to insufficient of cash at hand, that's where the trade by batter comes in. Furthermore, trade by batter gives for us to exchange good that we have in exchange for good that we need that someone else has.
This is now becoming a common among Nigerians now but we don't know if it's later going to be neglected if the issue of scarcity of currency comes back to normal. I am also a beneficial if trade by batter, where I have to give out my indomie noodles to my Landlady in exchange for tomato. What we did is just weighing the worth of the goods for exchange. Lastly, we all a video that went viral of an Hausa man who sells detergents, gave out N300 worth of detergent to a woman who sells cook rice and beans. Even if cash at hand currency comes back to normal, this means of exchange transaction shouldn't be dump again in my opinion.
