I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
As it is glaring that nobody is a center of knowledge and experience. As we are involved in things we do, we tend to gather experience to improve on things we do. Recently I have been talking about heat stress which is one of the challenges that could cause mortality and low production turn out. This heat stress has been one of the challenges I have been facing since I built my Pen. When I was building my pen, I built it based on my financial capacity then. I just need to own a pen to house my birds.
My Pen is built in such as a way that it has large space in between but has no height. Such that when I am inside I used bend over because of the height. So this situation causes a lot of heat stress on the birds during sunny period. As it's known that broiler birds have no sweat glands, there are some farm practices during the heat period that we could indulge in that won't complicate things further. That is retraining their feed when it's sunny.
So during the heat period that causes heat stress on the birds, it's safe to withdraw their feed because feed itself generates so much within their body because of the components made to produce these feeds such as maize, soyabeans, sorghum, oats and many more. If you are able to visit where these raw materials are being stored, one will discover they are stored in hot big storage.
If these their feed generates heat within their body it's better to withdraw it during the heat period. One as a Farmer should just indulge in feeding them morning and night when the weather is in good condition. It's best to know that heat period causes heat stress on the birds which could leads to partial stroke, high temperature, panting, breathing heavily and could leads to mortality if accurate measure is not taking in this period.
