Seeing the great pace at which the world is currently advancing in every way, I sometimes meditate on what the jobs of the future will be. It is not a question that can be answered with absolute certainty, but what can be intuited from now on is that the jobs of the future will be very different from those of today.

The required professional profiles will change and the jobs will be different
The professional profiles that will be required in the future will change with respect to current profiles, in the sense that professionals will have to have more and more knowledge of everything related to information technology and networks. Knowledge and management of state-of-the-art technological devices will also be essential. This means that professionals in any field will need to have greater knowledge about computers, tablets, cell phones (and other modern devices), and apart from that, they will need to have great knowledge in managing the Internet and social networks.
On the other hand, employment contracts, which are currently on the verge of extinction, will disappear almost completely in the future. This will be so because in the future there will be a lot of temporary work, independent work, or what we know as piecework. Of course, this means the elimination of job responsibilities by employers, and the extinction of labor benefits such as utilities, overtime pay, bonuses, and worker severance pay, because no one (or almost no one) will be working directly for a employer or company, instead of that, they will be under its own name, as if they were a personal company.
In other words, what we know today as self-employed workers will be the vast majority in the future. Because companies and industries will work with a minimum of permanent staff and, due to automation, the numbers will be reduced until reaching the minimum number of staff possible. This means that companies and industries will be molded in such a way that at some point they will work with the minimum number of personnel required to achieve the maximum level of efficiency and productivity.
So, in the future, no one will be paid based on working hours, but based on productivity and profit. That is why the efficiency will increase. And also, most of the jobs will be virtual, for which face-to-face will no longer be a norm or rule, but the exception, and something rare.

We could see a bit of this virtual modality of work at its peak in 2020, when due to the pandemic, most companies employees (whose work allowed it), had to do their work from home, via Internet. Well, in the future, this will become more and more frequent.
What will be the most demanded professions?
I have read several studies that speak of some of the most requested professions in the future will be those related to computer programming. As if it were necessary to see reports, or be a genius to know it... But the fact is that never harm to see official reports talking about the topic.
Because, according official studies, professions linked to the programming of apps, Web pages, social platforms, games and of software of the most diverse types and utilities, will be increasingly requested in the future. After all, as someone out there said: "The future of the world is on the Internet."

The professions linked to the economy (accounting, economics and administration) will also be among the most in demand, which is quite normal, if we consider that the economic plane is always relevant in every way.
Content creators will also be another of the careers with the highest demand in the future, and it is something that should not surprise us at all, since the importance of content creation is quite evident, even today. Because the Internet would be nothing without the people who dedicate themselves daily to the creation of the content that we read and search for.

Other careers that will be in high demand in the future will be everything that has to do with e-commerce and marketing, because more and more people will make all their purchases over the Internet. And, in fact, we are already seeing part of this phenomenon, since today it is normal to buy almost anything over the Internet.
There are many other jobs that will be in high demand in the future, but will not require great preparation or special qualification, because they will be jobs that arise from the prevailing need for someone to do them. We are talking here about jobs caring for children, the elderly and the sick. Certainly, all of these will always have to be face-to-face jobs, and they will almost always have to be contractual.
We will also see an increase in the number of jobs related to environmental issues (ecologists, environmental engineers), as the world is logically and steadily focusing on preserving the environment, through reducing the environmental impact of companies and industries.
Of course, there are some professions that, although they will be modernized over time, will continue to be essentially as we normally know them, with which I am referring here to the professions of lawyers, doctors, architects, kitchen chefs, airplane pilots and drones, farm workers, etc.
Blockchain technology in the future of work
Another profession that we can sense will grow in the future will be that of programmers and developers of software and applications linked to blockchain technology. And we know this for two things fundamentally speaking; Firstly, due to the growth of blockchain technology and the great advantages that it entails; and secondly, due to the fact that cryptocurrencies are growing more and more as means of payment.

Blockchain technology provides a secure, orderly, and decentralized record of the data needed for anything we can imagine, so the potential for using it in any job, in any company, is simply invaluable.
As blockchain technology progresses more and more in its development and use, it will be more and more used at the level of companies and industries. For this reason, those who intend to work in the future must be familiar with the use of blockchain technology, not only at the level of the work they are doing, but also, to use cryptocurrencies as a payment alternative, I mean, to receive the pay for their services or works.
In summary: Jobs will be increasingly modern and less face-to-face
But also, they will be better paid, because in the future, the paradigm of "pay me for my time" will completely change to "pay me based on my productivity"; and that will totally change the employment landscape in every way.
So if we want to be productive in that future, and be present in the workplace, we must start, from now on, to prepare ourselves mentally, intellectually and professionally to face it. Because it is not a question of whether or not these changes will occur in the future, but when exactly. The truth is that I think that all these changes in the labor landscape will be quite gradual, but more and more present in all senses.
