Black Friday deals are starting offering big discounts to shoppers. This event used to be quite popular but today more and more consumers tend to skip it. According to a Black Friday survey, customers refuse to be involved in Black Friday shopping because:
- Retailers manipulate shoppers
- It’s too crowded
- Retailers raise prices
- Necessary items are not on sales
- Inflation hits record high
62 % of respondents stated they will not participate in Black Friday sales this year. Nevertheless, there’s still enough people who are willing to spend some money hunting for the best deals. But are all the deals perfect to be purchased on this day? Or should we avoid something? We asked users of Bored Panda to answer the question - What are the worst things to buy on Black Friday?
Consumers shared their opinion with us. Please note that these are the opinions of the responders that may differ from yours.
#1 Anything that you don't need.
#2 Anything. Black Friday and obsession over buying the biggest and best physical item needs to
#3 Anything you have to actually go to the store and shop for there.
#4 Anything at a home improvement store because it will be less crowded … since everyone will be crushing together in the department stores!
#5 Anything you weren't planning to buy already. Impulse stuff is bad news. Deal on something you had to get anyway, good times.
#6 Books I don't need them I get them for free or cheaper price at a place called the Library
#7 if you live in Ireland? Nothing. it's a scam. no good deals.
#8 TV's any type of Television. They are normally a poor brand or cheaper any other time of the year!
#9 ANY ELECTRONICS!
#10 Anything labeled 'Limited Quantity' I worked retail for years, and can tell you that anything with that label is going to have been thrown around, trampled, grabbed, strangled, and other sundry adjectives of bad behavior. Plus, usually you are only saving around $20-$40 dollars-which is not worth the hospital bills
Also, we’ve got two bonus stories where customers shared their stories about the worst things they ever bought on Black Friday and why they were disappointed.
#1 electric face cleanser device that cost like 80 eur, surprise surprise, the company went bankrupt during covid so now I can't even buy replacement brushes anymore. I feel like I haven't gotten my money's worth for it.
#2 Not me, but my aunt- she copes with things with retail therapy for some background. But anyways, she got to the stores at like, 5:30am, waited until they opened and trampled a ton of people just to get a TV……..which was already sold out by the time she got there (as told by her last year on thanksgiving).
