Crypto wallets and how to secure it is something that can never be overemphasized, because you never know when you will fall victim. I always like to know and read more about crypto wallets and their security, whenever I hear a person complain about how their crypto wallet got hacked, I always want to know how so I can learn more because I wouldn’t want to fall victim for something I could have easily prevented. Today I was able to encounter a stranger on the bus who revealed to me that he is a crypto wallet hacker and phisher. It was so easy for him to expose himself because he is a stranger and he thinks we will never see or get another encounter again. We sat on the bus and started talking, the conversation got to a point where we started talking about crypto. You can’t have a conversation with me without learning a thing or two about crypto, I just have to bring crypto up.

So I told him I am into crypto investing, airdrop hunting, DeFi and a core Web 3.0 enthusiast, then he told me he is into crypto also, but then, he asked me if I knew about a crypto bot that removes coins from people’s wallet to any desire wallet? For a moment I was confused, because, why will I need a bot to do that if I am not thinking of doing something shady with it? So I told hime to explain better, why is the bot removing any crypto from a wallet and automatically sending it to a desired wallet? What is the function? The only bot I know helps make transactions on a chain to increase your transaction score to give you more points in airdrop hunting. So I asked him, does he need it for phishing? He gave me a smile, and said yes. That got interesting because at this moment I knew I had encounter a crypto phisher and I have a lot of questions to ask, just so I can be careful. So I asked him, if he is a crypto phisher, he smiled again, this means yes. My curiosity activated and I asked him how does he do it? How does he hack people’s wallet because I have heard a lot of different stories about how people’s wallets get hacked and do people really fall for their scams?
He laughed and showed me all the wallets he has hacked, they over 50 wallets, lots and lots of them, he told me a lot of people are that naive they fall for his scams. Apparently, one of the ways he hacks people’s wallet is by creating a fake website, this site is a phishing site that pretends to try and help you with any crypto problem you have. it tries to take you to a section where your seed phrase will be requested, this is where it gets interesting, in as much as we always emphasise on do not share your seed phrase, a lot of people still share their seed phrases on this phishing sites. He also pretends to be telegram group supports and guide you to where you will input your seed phrase. The moment you input your seed phrase, the site will send the seed phrase to his email. Now he has your seed phrase and can control your money. Then he also knows about smart contracts that dont need your seed phrase, just need to connect your wallet to the site and approve the smart contract, that gives him access to your account. I asked him how can I prevent myself from falling victim based on his experience phishig, he told me never to share my seed phrases on any site no matter what. I already knew this, but if you are reading this, please do not share your seed phrase. In terms of smart contract, always revoke your smart contract through revoke.cash. do not download any app on your mobile phone or laptop.
