From Cuba: My $40 to $10,000 Trading Challenge
Hello Ecency community. I'm Reuel Peña, a 32-year-old man from Cuba with a dream and a firm
decision: to build wealth from scratch, using my mind as my main tool and my discipline as the path.
Not long ago, I believed that money only came by luck-through gambling, memecoins, or waiting for
something to "hit." But one day, after hitting emotional rock bottom and facing my own mistakes,
something clicked in me.
I stopped waiting for miracles. And I started building my destiny.
I started with just $40, earned slowly, and I decided to use it for real trading: technical analysis, risk
management, calculated entries.
I have a clear plan: trade no more than twice a day, with 10x leverage, risking only 5% per trade,
aiming for 10% profit per entry.
But beyond the money, this is a mental battle.
One every Cuban understands well: how to keep
moving forward with little, how to not give up even when the system is against you, how to turn one
dollar into a story.
My mindset is built on daily mantras like:
- "I don't surrender to luck. I build my destiny."
- "The million exists. But only those who respect the next dollar will reach it."
- "When I'm frustrated, I don't shut down the emotion. I observe it, understand it, and keep building."

Every morning I wake up at 8:50 a.m. to review the charts of Bitcoin and Solana. I never enter
impulsively. I wait for confirmation, analyze, and then act.
I keep a trading journal where I write everything: how I felt entering, the result, and what I learned.
Because this isn't a game. This is my path to a dream: real freedom, helping my family, and proving
that even from Cuba, without excuses, it's possible.
Why do I share this here?

Hace no mucho, creía que la única forma de hacer dinero era por suerte: apostando, probando memecoins, esperando que algo "pegara".
Pero un día, luego de tocar fondo emocionalmente y mirar mis errores de frente, algo hizo clic en mí. Dejé de esperar milagros. Y empecé a construir mi destino.
Comencé con apenas $40, ganados poco a poco, y decidí usarlos para hacer trading real: análisis técnico, gestión de riesgo, entradas calculadas.
Tengo un plan claro: operar máximo dos veces al día, con apalancamiento 10x, arriesgando solo el 5% por operación, buscando un 10% de beneficio por trade. Pero más allá del dinero, esto es una batalla mental.
Una batalla que cada cubano entiende bien: la de seguir adelante con poco, de no rendirse aunque el sistema esté en tu contra, de convertir un dólar en una historia. Mi mentalidad se basa en frases que me repito cada día: - "No me rindo al azar. Construyo mi destino." - "El millón existe. Pero solo llega el que respeta el próximo dólar." - "Cuando me frustro, no apago la emoción. La observo, la entiendo y sigo construyendo."
Hoy me levanto cada mañana a las 8:50 a.m. para revisar los gráficos de Bitcoin y Solana. No entro por impulso. Espero confirmación, analizo y actúo. En mi bitácora anoto todo: mi emoción al entrar, el resultado, y lo que aprendí. Porque esto no es un juego.
Es mi camino hacia un sueño: tener libertad real, ayudar a mi familia, y demostrar que incluso desde Cuba, sin excusas, se puede. ¿Por qué comparto esto aquí? Porque sé que hay otros como yo. Gente que lucha en silencio.
