The CryptoRaiders economy has evolved over the past few months so that now you can now craft Health potions and use them in game to give your characters a health boost.
A Minor Health Potion (MHP) gives you a 70 health boost
A Basic Health Potion (BHP) gives you a 200 health boost.
You can only use ONE of these ONCE per raid.
I've been happily using the odd one here and there, quite cautiously as I realised early on how expensive these things are (you can also trade them for Aurum, the in game token, and then for USDC.
The cost of basic health potions.....
If I were to sell one Basic Health Potion I would get $1.15 for it. As usual the market has done a pretty good job relatively speaking pricing an MHP at around $0.40.
It costs 3 'Grimweed' and 2 'Eye of Newt' plus 3 Aurum (around 8 cents) to brew one Minor Health Potion, and then three Minor Health Potions plus a further 3 Aurum make up one Basic Health Potion
I currently have 15 Raiders which I can send on quests for Grimweed and Aurum ('effectively staking) and each one yields me 3 units (either Grimweed or Eye of Newt) per day.
(As with the price-synergy between the MHPs and BHPs there's little be gained from trading in either Grimweed or Eye of Newt - if you do so the prices will be practically the same as just buying the potions!)
So it costs '15 units of stuff' to make one BHP plus around $0.16 in Aurum (the Matic fees on Polygon are insignificant).
That means one raider questing solidly for a week can earn me (approximately) ONE basic health potion once I factor in the 25% it costs me to get them back from their Quest (they can quest around 5 days a week, roughly).
So that means the return on each raider is $1.15 a week or around $60 a year IF I just sell my BHPs.
Given that the current floor price of a Raider is $60 that's around an 80% return if I take off a little for the Aurum it costs to brew the potions.
What do I gain by using the Potions in-game...?
Well TBH Not Very Much.....
There's little point using them when grinding to level up Raiders - you may as well just settle for an easier dungeon you know you can win and play more of them!
There's also little to gain if yer raiders are levelled and yer playing the MAX raids at level 12 - ATM 99/100 you're going to get something worth 4 or 8 Aurum - that's $0.12 to $0.34 - so it's certainly NOT worth a BHP for that - maybe a MHP to make sure you get the XP if you're close to death.
As to the Endless Dungeons - there's no in game economy for Rings and Pendants yet, I can't see them being THAT expensive, so using a BHP (almost no point using an MHP here) is something to only do if yer approaching your best floor level to give you a chance of getting some better loot than you've already got.
TLDR...
FARM THOSE POTIONS IT AIN'T WORTH USING THEM IN GAME!
