It's finally got to the stage where after some time in Portugal, I need some new pants. TBH I probably needed some before I moved here, but unlike my now rather baggy and hole-some and dwindling collection of pants, I'm a bit tight so I've put of off buying them.
Now I could just pop down the local version of PoundLand ('Casa China') or rely on the local market but I decided to see what Amazon had to offer me, as I was on there just recently buying some other stuff, so thought this might be an easy add-on.
It turns out that Amazon.es is just pants at selling you, well, pants.
I found this particular bargain packat around $2 a unit, and originally clicked 'medium' thinking that's what I usually by (33-34 inch waist) but then decided to check to to see if there was a size guide, and NOPE.
NO SIZE GUIDE?
What kind of fucked up basket-case clothing company ships a clothing item internationally without relying on a basic, international size-guide. ..?
That fact alone made me decided NOT to buy pants from this company.
There were the inevitable questions about 'I'm this size in pants (meaning trousers) what size for these?'
And there were responses, but I couldn't figure out for the life of me whether they were talking in 'waist inches' or some kind of general male-trouser system sizing they have in Spain that I'm not aware of.
I'm fairly sure that someone isn't asking 'I've got a 56 inch waste, what size pants do I need?' as in the first question.... that would make them extremely obese.
Other questions were quite funny, but not because of any effort on the questioners part...
Anyway, the thought of that made me a little ill, so another reason for just clicking off and giving up.
Besides the above similar no-size-guide cheap-deals (which makes me think this is all one company, different front ends), all I could find was brand-names, which were really rather expensive, or sports underwear and I really don't need either.
I can't believe it's so difficult just to buy pants, and don't even get me started on T shirts - I know my exact brand in the UK, and size, anything else is a potential nightmare of misfits.
There was a silver lining, I did find a six pack of eco bamboo pants for around 40 EU, rather expensive, but I'd rather spend some money and buy something decent (hopefully) rather than rely on Casa China tomorrow, lord knows what I'll end up with from there!
