I am sure that you do not know the financial target I had for 2021. Let me remind you what I had in mind in the beginning of the year. I know the scenario was different back then and I was in a different frame of mind. But it is extremely important to revisit the target and review what I had achieved and where I failed. I managed to stake 10 K Leo (wow) and own a house 😊

I myself did not believe that I would have amassed 1 BTC in 2021. I know I should not say that but what I thought for BTC was not to reach the target but to have that symbolic goal. I strive to own 1 BTC, someday. It does not mean that I will be able to do that this year or next year. What it means is I will not stop accumulating BTC through DCA. I am at 20% of that goal and will continue to accumulating in 2022.

I am glad that I thrived on the opportunity provided by the pandemic. It is an irony to say that I profited from the pandemic but that is true when it is analyzed from a different perspective. The COVID pandemic propelled house prices to newer heights all over the globe. That was especially true for Toronto, and North America. Although the price increased and reached out of reach for all the population, it also generated fear in me. The fear was to not to be able to own a house even with a stable income source. My wife and I were so scared to lose the value of the liquid cash we saved through years. We wanted to park the cash we saved for house and had to make a hard decision. So, we decided to wrestle in the market and bought a house to get into real estate. Not sure that was a good decision but we have a place we own. Having reached this target dampened all other financial targets we had for 2021. Owning a house is a big commitment and we will have to wait for another few years to stabilize the income we have.
5K Hive
To be honest, I thought I would achieve this target. The first year I was on Hive, I managed to reach 1K HP through blogging and playing. The next 4K was not that hard to achieve but the fate had other things mapped for me. While I was targeting to stake Hive Power, I got introduced to dCity. I started investing in dCity to generate Hive income. With the price deprecation of SIM token, my decision to invest heavily in dCity turned out to be bad.
In addition to that, I also increased my investment in Cubdefi to take part on the defi imitative. Not to mention my late engagement with Splinterlands. I invested fiat into Chaos Legion Pack. I am still not sure if I made a right decision by buying CL pack during the first pre-sale phase. I would have rather bought Hive and achieved my Hive target. Gone is gone and I am still 50% into my Hive target.
10K LEO
This one is where I should get A+ 😊
My target was to reach 10K Leo Power by the end of this year. I managed to reach the target with a day to spare. It is not easy to stay focused for the whole year in crypto space. Things have changed so much in year for Leofinance. This platform has grown so much into other projects.
Early 2021, we only had Leo and Wleo. Now, we are talking about bLeo, pLeo and even Terra Leo. It shows the width the project has gained in 2021. FUDsters will FUD but I believe that the project team will not stop developing going forward. I bought LEO when it was 60 cents. I am sad that I bought the token that high but it was part of this staking journey. Staking LEO was not a straight-line but was full of a variety of emotions. Imagine buying LEO when it was 60 cents that crashed back to 17 cents. What I did good was to buy LEO when it stabilized (and still is) at around 20 cents.
With 10 K staked, I am ready to get into curating and blogging. I am also ready for Project Blank. What am I now in the LEO food chain? Am I a LION?
