Why rewarding your audience gets more important in the digital world
Recently, I have seen multiple seeds sprouts on Twitter mentioning new (or old) Social Media platforms that run on blockchain technology. I even see the #deso tag popping up. What? I'm not surprised that giant overlords of Web 2 (centralized) social media platforms like Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, and Mark Zuckerberg are trying to jump in on the movement, thinking that they're offering a ride to the promised land. Well, these trains are one-way rides straight back to the not-so-decentralized-lala-land, where centralization brands itself as decentralization simply because giants like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and so on can't afford their users to go rogue and roam free.
What could be the reason why most of us are looking for/and have built something else?
It's simple. We realize that our time is valuable, and has meaning to at least 1 person. And so is yours!
On Hive, all of my readers are rewarded, this could include you!
Hive is a decentralized textbook-based blockchain running on a DPoS protocol. Hive offers several interfaces where users can interact with the blockchain in the style they like. All sorts of content creators are welcome on Hive and there are quite a few users who have instantly used Hive to monetize their content. But this isn't the only remarkable property that Hive has to offer to all of its users globally.
One of the awesome things about Hive is that you can send micro-rewards to everyone who engages with your content. Rewarding readers on Hive is an incredible way to grow a successful and engaged audience. Readers are instantly incentivized to engage with your blog posts. Since getting rewarded is one of the incentives in exchange for readers' engagement, you can easily detect genuine and authentic readers who read your content. One of the reasons why I left Instagram and Facebook, was because of the generic "cool" comments after hours of hard work. On Hive, I feel that the same work is appreciated, and I can appreciate people who spend their time reading one of my blogs.
This is a game changer for global Social Media platforms. If you're thinking this is the same as "oh you can just farm rewards by placing comments", you'd be mistaken, the community is governed by itself, and content creators are feeling responsible enough to not reward comments that look like farming rewards. A lot of security is already built-in and doesn't only rely on technology, but human interaction as well. This is in my opinion, one of the things that make a blockchain successful and a fun experience.
Why rewarding your audience gets more important in the digital world
Rewarding an audience isn't a new thing. We have been rewarded as consumers since I can remember. Sometimes it just felt a little bit unfair. This shifted to almost no rewards at all in exchange for our time. On Hive, we all realize that everyone's time is equally valuable. This is the main reason why I am rewarding most of my readers (and sometimes give higher rewards if the comment is fully engaging with the topic/theme). The beauty of all of it is that the only cost I have is rechargeable resource credits.
For individuals, Hive can be quite rewarding, but for businesses, Hive is quite an interesting incentive to start using one of the social media platforms as an outlet for information and showcases.
- Increased loyalty: By showing appreciation for your audience's engagement, you can build a more loyal following.
- Meaningful engagement: By incentivizing your audience to engage with your content, you can encourage deeper and more meaningful interactions.
- Showing appreciation: Rewarding your audience is a simple yet effective way to show your appreciation for their support and investment in your work.
A User-Friendly and Community-Driven Platform
I realize that cryptocurrency and blockchain technology can sound rather complex, so users avoid using them as they don't understand them. But once you understand a few terms that explain how Hive works, you are going to love Hive. Hive is designed to be user-friendly and welcoming. Even for those who have very little experience with blockchain technology and/or cryptocurrency. Just try Hive out for at least a few months, and just explore, do whatever you already are doing on Socials, and learn a bit about the our community-driven platform. Most of us are always willing to help and answer questions from newcomers, there are even dedicated discord community servers for that.
Rewarding my readers is just one way to monetize content on Hive
Everyone who participates on Hive is automatically eligible (without being censored/shadowbanned/and so on) to receive author rewards, curation rewards (finding and liking content that you find awesome), and for holding the token itself. These three ways to monetize your content are the most common ones, but there's more to explore on Hive.
