Researchers just exposed something nasty.
Every time you load LinkedIn in a Chrome-based browser, hidden JavaScript quietly scans your installed browser extensions. The list includes thousands of extensions — reports vary from ~2,953 to over 6,000.
They’re not just looking for ad blockers.
The scan can detect:
- Islamic content filters (like PordaAI)
- Anti-Zionist or political tagging tools
- Extensions for neurodivergent users
- Competitor job search and sales tools
All this data gets collected, encrypted, and sent to LinkedIn’s servers — and reportedly shared with third-party companies, including US-Israeli cybersecurity firms.
While you’re busy polishing your professional profile, LinkedIn is building a detailed dossier on your potential religious beliefs, political views, and personal situation.
BrowserGate investigation is blowing up right now.

This is getting creepy. LinkedIn already knows who you are professionally — now they want to know what you believe and who you really are.
DYOR, not advice — but maybe it’s time to switch to Firefox when visiting LinkedIn 😬
