I have been going through some frustrating experience while trying to apply for renewal of my Car Registration, as its completing 15 years next month. If you are not aware, then, we can extend the registration for another five years, and the first step for that is to apply online at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/
You need click on Online Services and then select Vehicle Related Services.
Then select State name and it takes you the page that is integrated with the State Transport Authority page.
Click on Registering Authority and Select your RTO, accept the policy and click Proceed and you will land at the Online Services page.
Be very careful to read this important information : If you do Aadhaar Authentication with Aadhaar number of a person other than registered owner then your application will be rejected and fees shall not be refundable.
I don't understand how this is possible even and more ever, they won't refund any money, seriously !!
Click on the selected icon Renewal of Registration as shown below :
In the next page, you will have to enter your vehicle registration number and last 5 digits of chassis number and verify details. It will generate an OTP and send to your mobile for verification. Once verified, it will take you to the Renewal page showing the details of the vehicle and then fees that you need to pay. For me, its a little over 14k.
Click on Proceed, it takes to the Payment Gateway page, where there is only choice to select from the dropdown.
Click on Continue and then I reach a dead end.
They are not sure what went wrong. And this ordeal does not stop here. Click on that Home Page link, and it does not do anything and stays in this page. So I thought, I would start it again from the beginning.
Fair, pressed refresh(CTRL+F5) , and it goes all the way to the Verification page. But once I enter vehicle number and chassis number (last 5 digits), it lands on this useless page.
It even did not go the payments page last time but they have it open on their side. So I click on YES to continue, and it takes me to another page, where I can't do anything.
And instead if you click on that link to clear the pending transaction, it lands here :
It does not even bring that Transaction No, so you will have to copy it ( from your next attempt). The back button in browser does not doo anything, and keeps you on the same page, as its a redirect. So start all over and copy the Transaction No and show details, it will show you this :
Click on Re-verify, and it shows you the fees.
Click on Check to Bank and it tells me the payment is pending at the bank side. It did not even go to the payments page, and no bank has been involved.
I have been trying the same sequence of events for last few days, and it feels frustrating to see such a bad system design. After some time they will send a SMS saying The transaction so so has been failed, please initiate new transaction. And then I start all over and go through the same.
Leave the tab open for some time, it says your session has expired. Start after that ( make sure, you got the SMS to initiate a new transaction), and it does not change anything.
Do you think, this is the standard of Gold Digital India Award ? It's very disappointing seeing such poor system design.
