Yesterday I stopped by Giveth House. It is a hacking house in town that was set several years ago when Giveth.io was created. Giveth is one of the projects I have been contributing to in the past years. The house is not only used by team members, but many contributors to other web3 projects have been able to spend some days there.
They used to pay the rent of the house from the revenues they were getting out of ETH mining, of course, that all ended when Ethereum migrated to a POS from POW consensus chain. They are trying to use the equipment for AI but have not had the time to set it up yet. So they have had to support the cost of the rental since then.
Last week Optimism Retro Public Good Fund round 3 results were announced and the Giveth House got a nice amount which will be able to cover rental and maintenance fees for several months. It is nice to see how the web3 community is recognizing the effort some projects have been doing in the past for the whole ecosystem and compensating them now. It is also a sign of how the market is moving up again.
I feel proud to be part of a nice project such as Giveth and also part of a community that helps those who take care of the community members. Another project that got funds was dAppNode, a company created out of Giveth that sells equipment to have your own EVM node, helping decentralize the networks from big players such as Infura.
Cheers to all the projects that received funds.
