The British Pobjoy Mint manufactured this reverse frosted silver coin for the British Indian Ocean Territory.
A reverse frosted coin has an inverted finish. The background is frosted, and all other design elements are polished to a mirror-like finish.
The design pops out due to its finish!
Built in 1869 it’s first voyage was in 1870 for Shanghai during the trade of China tea. The Cutty Sark is known for its record breaking speeds during the late 1800s where it could transport goods in less than a month. Source.
