The holidays are quickly approaching, and seeing a Christmas parade is among the greatest ways to experience the spirit of the occasion. There are a ton of sights and noises to help get you in the festive spirit, including marching bands, enormous floats and balloons, and of course, Santa Claus.
Santa... santa!!! Look over here!!!
Santa came to town on Friday evening! He was accompanied by an entourage of police cars! I monitored the parade as he visited most parts of town from Facebook. Then we came out to greet him when he turned the corner.
I bought several of these plants!
The traditional Christmas plant poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima), with its bright red bracts against green foliage, is a beloved holiday sight. During the season, poinsettias are easy to care for indoors. The more difficult options are to cultivate it as an annual houseplant or to grow it outdoors in the appropriate climate.

1939 Delaware Tercentenary Silver Half Dollar
A scarce collectible... To commemorate the 300th anniversary of the first successful European settlement in Delaware.
Reverse: The ship Kalmar Nyckel (Key of Kalmar) appears on the reverse. Located above the ship is the inscription “DELAWARE TERCENTENARY”. Underneath the ship are the anniversary dates of 1638-1938. Three diamonds at the bottom of the coin symbolize the three counties of Kent, New Castle and Sussex. The designer’s initials are located to the right of the ship.
Obverse: The Old Swedes Church in the center. Above the church, sun rays show through a cloud.
The current price for a 1936 Delaware Tercentenary Half Dollar is $299.45 in mint state 65. It sold for $1.75 in 1938 when they were originally issued.
