Today we are looking at five, yes FIVE tokens from Slots A Fun casino. Why five tokens one might ask (but probably didn't)? Well, I spent A LOT of time at this casino, in part because my wife dealt craps at the table that used to be just inside the doorway. There may have been a time or three that I got there way too early to pick her up from work. :)
Slots A Fun opened in August, 1971. Here is some interesting info from Wikipedia that I can verify as true.
Slots-A-Fun is one of the smallest casinos operating on the Strip, and once offered some of the lowest table-game betting minimums on the famed street. As of 2008, players could wager as little as $2 at craps and $1 at blackjack. The craps table was directly located at the main open-air entrance and, of all gaming tables in Las Vegas, was the gaming table that located closest to the traffic of the Strip.
That craps table was simply magical. The location, the low minimum, the characters that would show up to play. This is one of my fondest memories from my time as a Las Vegas resident.
My history with this casino goes back even longer, 20 years before I lived there I visited there as a kid with my family. I remember staying at Circus Circus, which is right next door, and walking with my dad and brother to Slots A Fun to get the giant $1 hot dog!
Fast forward to the 90s and my visits from California and I spent a lot of one dollars on Heineken. Lots of dollars.
Silver 🎉
The art on this round is a pretty good representation, don't you think? Just look at Circus Circus back there too! 🙂
