Today we will look at a token from my all time favorite casino, Silver City Casino. Though this place was closed before I moved to Vegas in 2000 I spent many MANY hours in this casino.
I've written about my late night drives from L.A. To Vegas in the 90s and Silver City was always our first stop.
Once we rolled into town we would head straight to Silver city for some sustenance.
That's right, 99 cents for breakfast. And that was no BS breakfast either. Eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon sausage. No joke.
I also remember one trip (well, the beginning of the trip anyway) where they were offering $1 shots of Jim Beam in a horseshoe shaped shot glass and you got to keep the glass.
Yep, that's the last one I have. I left Vegas with five or six but have shed a few as I've moved along in life. Lemme just fill it again and toast you, my friend.
#cheers
These tokens have a tasty 0.60ozt silver center surrounded by a ring of brass. When I take them out of the airtite to photograph them I can hear the center piece rattle around inside that brass.
All the tokens I will be showing are a $10 value at the casino cage but they sell for well over $20 on the open market. I wonder if folks actually cashed these in for a crisp 10 dollar bill at the casino?
