Scottish bee in the Hive!
Hello Hello awesome Hive
So Hive is two! Happy belated Birthday Hive for March 20th and congratulations on the fork from steem.
I must admit that I did see and read many stories at the time on Twitter about the Justin Sun takeover and that so many people were upset and infuriated. However, as I was not in steem, I did not give it much thought.
Fast forward a year and I was another writing platform and met some awesome people there and some of them were on Hive and reporting back on how much fun it was. In particular these two superstars and
were the guilty parties 🤣
Eventually, I took the plunge in September of last year, but it was only this year that I actually started to use Hive properly and on a daily basis and am now I confess that I am a HIVE addict.
1 The People
This is a social platform, it the people are no fun, then I won't be social. The people on Hive are amazing, so helpful and fun to be with. The communities are an awesome idea and there are several communities I belong to. I even was made a moderator in one recently. The people are not only friendly and sociable on Hive, but also on Discord. There are so many servers on Discord for various Hive communities and tribes that is an awesome extension.
2 The tokenomics, games and ways to earn
People say on banners come for the crypto stay for the people. Well I came for both.
I am not new to crypto and do have a portfolio that is away from Hive. However now I am getting into the tokens on Hive.
When it comes to crypto I love staking. This post was actually written in response to a Hive Writing Challenge from
You can stake Hive and it is listed on the top staking site Staking Rewards so what is not to like.
Then there are the games. Because I was so late to the Hive party, I pretty much missed the money earning potential of Splinterlands, but that does not stop me playing! The game that grabbed my interest though is Rising Star, it is awesome and I have not spent one penny on it and am level 25 already. Fun is all I will say.
3 A place to learn
I have a Masters in Knowledge Management, I love to learn, it does not matter what it is, I want to learn it!
Because Hive is truly a global phenomena we have users from all over the world. We learn about other cultures and customs. Look at what are amazing users from Ukraine are posting. We are getting real stories straight from users that is not readily available on MSM.
Forget the learning about crypto as that is covered in Reason 2, we even learn about products.
As an example I recently purchased a camera online and am awaiting it being delivered. The model was chosen after speaking to Hivers and users of the model. There we go, learning on the Hive and helping each, that to me is the ultimate in Knowledge Management by users sharing their tacit knowledge explicitly with other users!
4 Let's me hone my writing skills
You probably read that and though seriously 🤣🤣🤣.
There are so many writing groups here that give us prompts and enable us to write in a variety of formats, there is even one challenge that is to creat a story in precisely 240 characters!
How cool is that!?!
Then there are the writing challenges, you could write a post a day quite easily if you wanted to participate in a writing challenge, there are lots of them.
5 hivebuzz
The fifth thing I love about Hive is
All the stuff for PUD and PUm is fantastic and all that they do behind the scenes brightens up my day. The badges aren't they so cool
This was the badge that I got last week. I am fully fledged Minnow 🐟🐟🐟 on Hive now. I love the badges and the notifications, you have had x amount of upvotes etc etc. Not only is it fun, but it is motivating as well.
We all know that when you enjoy something and it is fun, then you will do it without even realising that you are doing it. That is how I feel about HIVE.
