Yesterday, I decide to check out the ACE Predict platform which the Leostrategy team developed on the hive blockchain. Being very interested in how a prediction market works, I registered to have a look around, make a few predictions of my own, and potentially win big.
One thing that did not come easily, however, was signing in with my Hive account. I was having trouble logging into the system as Keychain login failed more than 5 times without success, always giving me an error that it cannot sign the request. After that, I attempted using the HiveAuth to login to the system, this did not work for me as well. At that point, I nearly give up but decided to give it one last try by using the Keys login as a final attempt.
Thankfully, that finally worked on the first time.
After managing to log into the platform, my wallet got linked up to the platform, and I was able to claim the 5 ACE free trial bonus that all new users can receive. I feel this is actually a really clever idea as I get to try the prediction market out without any initial risk to my own finances.
Once the bonus has been claimed, I started to explore and take a look around to see what this new platform entails. From my observation, the Leostrategy team actually put a lot of work in designing the platform interface; it is very sleek, easy to navigate, and all the features works well with all prediction markets being clearly laid out on the homepage so that users can easily decide what they want to participate in.
When I signed in, there were about 7 prediction markets already set up. I decided to test the system using the 5 ACE trial bonus that I have just received by making several predictions. In total, I managed to make 9 predictions across 3 different markets.
Interestingly, the first three predictions I made had successful outcomes, giving me a reward of 3.68 ACE. It actually caught me off-guard as I wasn't expecting to win so early. The remaining 6 predictions are still in progress and expected to resolve sometime around day 2, so it would be another day until they will be resolved.
I had initially expected to be able to withdraw my profit immediately after making the first few successful predictions. However, as I look further into the platform, I see that I need to make a minimum profit of at least 5 ACE before I would be able to make a withdrawal. This was not too big of a deal since I was just testing the system to understand it better anyway.
From the 3.68 ACE profits I made, I decided to play another prediction in a different market; I made one prediction with 3 stakes in the prediction market, with a payout of 3 ACE if it was to be successful.
I am very hopeful that I will be able to make another profit which will take me over the 5 ACE mark. My aim is to continuously play in the prediction markets and gradually grow my portfolio by making well thought out predictions in the prediction market, and not jump in to every prediction market just to claim whatever prize they have to offer.
One feature that I think could be added to the platform is a feature that will enables user's to see all their predictions history as it is not quite easy to view predictions history currently. Such feature will help users to track and analyse their past predictions and strategies to know what works best for them.
