OK, so today what I did was very simple. It was time-consuming in every way. I started with the optimization of my Upwork account because today is a public holiday. I began working on it to ensure that the account looks very professional. By optimisation, I mean changing the skills, keywords, tags, and everything else. I focused on the unique skills that would help my account rank and work perfectly well.
Next, I optimized my portfolio, especially the project catalog. Some of these portfolio items and project catalog entries were outdated, with no views for many of them. I had to reoptimize them once again to ensure that they work effectively. Another thing I did was edit my profile title to reflect my current work and show that my account is active and functioning well.
Finally, I engaged with and checked on other people's accounts. By that, I mean I looked at my competitors—those who are offering the same niche services as I am and doing roughly the same thing. I examined their accounts to understand what makes them rank well, why they appear on the first page, and what strategies they use to become visible on Upwork. This way, I can analyze their keywords, tags, and other elements to ensure that mine align with what it takes to reach the first page of Upwork and potentially secure a project.
