Blu-Rays sind inzwischen günstiger als Filme oder Serien digital auf Amazon Prime zu kaufen. Irre. Was wurde aus Downloads und Video-On-Demand?
Der Umsatz von Blu-Rays und DVDs hat sich in den letzten 5 Jahren halbiert, während das Streaming-Geschäft explodiert ist, und man merkt es in der Zwischenzeit auch in den Geschäften. Die Verkaufsflächen für Blu-Rays werden immer kleiner.
Ich habe schon seit Jahren keine Blu-Rays mehr gekauft, wollte mir jetzt aber meine Game of Thrones-Sammlung vervollständigen.
Dachte, dass man mittlerweile Serien und Filme auch online kaufen kann. Aber abseits von Netflix & Co. hat sich das digitale Geschäft mit Kauf-Filmen und Serien die letzten 10 Jahren kaum weiterentwickelt.
Es gibt immer noch keine Extras, kein 4K und jetzt haltet euch fest, die Digital-Version ist meistens teurer als die Blu-Ray.
Denke das ist eine verpasste Chance oder entwickelt sich alles Richtung Streaming und Abo-Modell? HBO Max ist aber in der EU immer noch nicht verfügbar.
Würdet ihr ähnlich wie auf Steam, Filme und Serien auch als Downloads kaufen, wenn sie günstig und in hoher Qualität (4K) verfügbar wären oder denkt ihr, dass Streaming a la Netflix ausreicht? Kauft ihr noch Blu-Rays oder sogar 4K Blu-Rays?

What happened to downloads and video on demand?
Sales of Blu-rays and DVDs have halved in the last 5 years, while the streaming business has exploded, and you notice it in the stores too. The retail space for Blu-Rays is getting smaller and smaller.
I haven't bought Blu-Rays in years, but now wanted to complete my Game of Thrones collection.
Thought you could buy series and movies online by now. But apart from Netflix & Co. the digital business with purchase movies and series has hardly developed the last 10 years.
There are still no extras, no 4K and now hold on, the digital version is often more expensive than the Blu-Ray.
Think this is a missed opportunity or is everything evolving towards streaming and subscription model anyway? HBO Max is still not available in the EU though.
Similar to Steam, would you buy movies and series as downloads if they were cheap and available in high quality (4K) or do you think streaming a la Netflix is enough? Do you still buy Blu-rays?
