It has been more than a week since I decided to put liquidity into Hybra Finance. Although I was hesitant at first, the idea of experimenting with Hyperliquid was crucial to my decision making; there is still a long way to go.
It is not complex but there are details to consider. In these protocols we do not connect through Hyperliquid as we might imagine, but through HyperEVM. As we know EVM refers to Ethereum-compatible blockchains, which means that a wallet like MetaMask can support this network.
Hyperliquid itself is a layer 1 blockchain, focused on DeFi and derivatives (with what is known as “Perpetual Futures Trading”). It is worth noting that the blockchain is independent and on par with any CEX, with the detail that it is transparent and decentralized. If we enter the site, we will see a large order book in execution.
Ya pasó más de una semana desde que decidí aportar liquidez en Hybra Finance. Si bien al principio no me decidía, la idea de experimentar sobre Hyperliquid fue algo crucial para la toma de decisiones; aún falta mucho por recorrer.
No es complejo pero sí hay detalles que hay que tener en cuenta. En estos protocolos no nos conectamos a través de Hyperliquid como pudiéramos imaginarnos, sino que se hace por medio de HyperEVM. Como sabemos EVM se refiere a las blockchains compatibles con Ethereum, lo que significa que una billetera como MetaMask puede soportar esta red.
Hyperliquid en sí es una cadena de bloques de capa 1, enfocada en DeFi y derivados (con lo que se conoce como "Trading de Futuros Perpetuos"). Cabe destacar que la blockchain es independiente y está a la altura de cualquier CEX, con el detalle de que es transparente y descentralizada. Having made this distinction, we can begin to question whether or not it was a good idea to add liquidity in Hybra Finance. What I can anticipate is that it is a strategy that could open up a range of ideas for other strategies.
I must say that at first I was a bit discouraged that I was not generating enough points, although truth be told, the investment was insufficient. I had opened a pool worth $55.88 dollars. In terms of profitability, the rewards were fine. For example, in a whole day I had generated about $0.195. This was thanks to the volatility of the APR, which at times rises dramatically.
I decided to add more liquidity. Not to generate more rewards, but to gain a points base to allow me to climb the rankings. I imagined that I could get above 2,000. However, that did not happen. Apparently, as expected, people entered en masse, making it difficult to compete for positions. Mind you, I am content to be in a favorable position. In turn, if I am able to do so, I could start participating in other protocols (withdrawing liquidity) within the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
We must remember that every transaction we make leaves a record on the blockchain, so you could also aim for an airdrop outside Hybra Finance. It is also for that reason that I will have to think about where else to participate, and what kind of operations to do. Before I will have to do a previous study on each of the mechanics of each operation (for example, I do not know or I am ignorant about lending/borrowing, so it will be the last thing I get to experience).
Habiendo hecho esta diferencia, podemos empezar a cuestionar si fue o no buena idea el añadir liquidez en Hybra Finance. Lo que sí puedo anticipar es que es una estrategia que podría abrir un abanico de ideas de otras estrategias más.
Debo decir que al principio me desalenté un poco por no estar generando suficientes puntos, aunque a decir verdad, la inversión era insuficiente. Había abierto una piscina por un valor de $55.88 dólares. En cuanto a la rentabilidad, las recompensas estaban bien. Por ejemplo, en todo un día había generado unos $0.195. Esto fue gracias a la volatilidad del APR, que en algunos momentos sube drásticamente.
Decidí añadir una liquidez mayor. No para generar más recompensas, sino para ganar una base de puntos que me permita escalar posiciones en el ranking. Imaginé que podría llegar a entrar por encima de los 2,000. Sin embargo eso no sucedió. Al parecer, como era de esperarse, entró gente de forma masiva, haciendo difícil competir por las posiciones. Eso sí, por mi parte soy de conformarme en estar en una posición favorable. A su vez, de poder hacerlo, podría comenzar a participar en otros protocolos (retirando liquidez) dentro del ecosistema de Hyperliquid.
Debemos recordar que cada operación que hagamos deja un registro en la blockchain, por lo que también se podría aspirar a un airdrop ajeno a Hybra Finance. También es por ese motivo que deberé pensar en dónde más participar, y qué tipo de operaciones hacer. Antes deberé hacer un estudio previo sobre cada una de las mecánicas de cada operación (por ejemplo, desconozco o soy ignorante respecto al lending/borrowing, así que será lo último que llegue a experimentar).
Right now I'm at $111.95 liquidity due to $HYPE dropping a bit in price. I am still staying in range, but if I get out of range, the system will convert my position to WHYPE or HYPE (I have yet to find out). When the price goes way up and out of range, what happens is that it converts to profit, which means that if I am in the WHYPE/USDT0 pool, it will convert all of it to USDT0. This has already happened to me in the beginning, so I had to swap back to buy back the WHYPE tokens and open LP again.
As for the profitability I am having, I could say that it has far exceeded my expectations. Yesterday I expected to generate at least $0.4, but to my surprise, what was generated in a whole day was about $0.51 which I managed to claim by paying out of gas less than $0.008. What I think is that the more you have to claim, the more gas you have to pay for, although in HyperEVM everything is very cheap (even when the GWEI is high).
Ahora mismo estoy con una liquidez de $111.95 debido a que ha bajado un poco de precio $HYPE. Aún me mantengo en rango, pero de salirme, el sistema convertirá mi posición en WHYPE o HYPE (aún debo descubrirlo). Cuando el precio sube mucho y se sale del rango, lo que sucede es que se convierte en ganancias, lo que significa que si estoy en la piscina WHYPE/USDT0, se convertirá todo en USDT0. En cuanto a la rentabilidad que estoy teniendo, podría decir que ha superado con creces mis expectativas. El día de ayer esperaba generar al menos $0.4, pero para mi sorpresa, lo que se generó en todo un día fueron unos $0.51 que logré reclamar pagando de gas menos de $0.008. Lo que pienso es que mientras más tienes para reclamar, más es el gas por el que debes pagar, aunque en HyperEVM todo es muy barato (aún cuando el GWEI está alto).

The rewards, on the other hand, are in the pair you've added, so there's a sort of compound interest. Although don't forget that gas is paid in HYPE, so you should always leave enough to make transactions (in this case sign the contract to claim the rewards).

Las recompensas, por otra parte, son en el par que has añadido, por lo que se produce una suerte de interés compuesto. Aunque no hay que olvidar que el gas se paga en HYPE, por lo que siempre hay que dejar suficiente para realizar las transacciones (en este caso firmar el contrato para reclamar las recompensas).
What I am wondering now is how to move up in the ranking. Before this new investment I have hardly moved from the position. What I am thinking is that those who are higher above me, is because they have invited new users. As it is expressed, inviting a new user allows you to get 10% of what that user earns. It doesn't specify if it's points, rewards, or both. That might explain why there are positions with over 800 million points, while I am barely close to 10,000 points. I plan to leave the position open until the 31st of this month and then evaluate how to continue. For now, if the price of HYPE stays within the range, bringing liquidity into the protocol is a good idea; even more so if I acquire more tokens, which in the future, could reflect an even higher price.
