Leveling up this big guy for the very first time. They say he would work harder and better if I do so (wink wink).
If you have been following my blog for a while, you probably realize that I started to get into this NFT game. Can't really call it a 'game' 100% as some of my friends define it some other things.
What DFK is exactly?
They say, it's just an extra step to farm.. #oops which is kind of true somewhat. The thing is, the other parts of the game is not even out yet. We can for now just do some farming and send heroes to do quests but in the near future, there's adventures (p2p) and acquiring land NFT as well so, in my opinion, they're somewhat still too early to judge.
Back to 'I'm a DFK fan' and started sharing about my experience using the platform. This is one of not many platform I have been using as often as HIVE/PeakD so I guess it makes sense to share something I found interesting and useful here.

Leveling up my big guy
Level up, performance up, price up!
That kinda sum it up pretty good why I decided to level my hero up. I sacrificed some stuff in exchange for that higher level that eventually/hopefully would do me good! How so and how to, will be explained in the next few paragraph here but first, let me introduce you to 'Uzohr Roughglide'
He's actually my first ever DFK hero NFT. Got him off a tavern where all the heroes hang out for 36 $JEWEL (756 USD if calculated with current $JEWEL price #omg that's quite some bucks!!!). He was a level 1 dude with a monk class and his profession is mining!
He was pretty good at gardening
I know! His profession is mining and he's supposed to be mining me loads tons of gold! but the mining profession just opened for the heroes to do quest not many days ago so.. I have been training him gardening.
Though, a miner is still a miner.
Why are you telling me this anyways? Well, there are so many things to consider and decide a bit while leveling up so, know your hero well would give you best out of the resources you will use to leveling up so, let's maximize the benefits!
Things needed for leveling up
- Your hero with Full XP
- A rune (you can find by foraging or buy it off the market for about $20)
- 0.1 $JEWEL fee
- Knowledge of what stats would make him/her a better hero!
Don't know professions, classes, stats or anything at all? No sweat, here's a hero cheat sheet I got from my DFK guru who's been guiding me through my DFK journey. It's kinda #deep I'm not gonna lie. Especially with card game noob like myself. Anyways, this one is pretty handy so, you're welcome!
Let's get high! (Level)
Once all the things needed to level up are ready, now it's easy peasy so leggoooo!!
- Go to the map then to the meditation circle.
- Go say hi to Esoteric Wanderer then he will explain...

3.Pick a hero! and stats
So once you've already picked a hero you'd like to level him up. Look at the cheat sheet. For example, my guy is a miner, from the cheat sheet, mining needs STR (strong) and END (endurance) so those where exactly what I picked for my boy, Uzohr Roughglide. The first stat line, that's what you'd get for sure and the second line is more like, maybe if you're lucky enough, you'll get it.
4.Pay some fees. 1 rune and 0.1 $JEWEL to be exact.
5.Begin level up! and let the magic happen!

Since it's not a sure thing what stats you'd get, after the ritual is done, you will be taken to the conclusion what's up with your hero. My hero, Uzohr, got STR, VIT, END, INT, and LCK +1 on each stat. Stamina increased from 25 to 26 which is great! All the quests need stamina.
He's now officially a level 2 hero and I'm so damn proud! Took me a while to learn all this.
Now look at his XP. He used it all to level up so now we're starting it all over again. Not 2000 no more either. This time its full XP is at 3000 so it would take me a little longer while to hit that again. Just keep working and doing quest, wouldn't be longer than I couldn't wait.
Level up, performance up, price up!
Now that he's a bigger boy now. When he does some quests, he sure perform better and he can work longer as well. Once I fully fill his XP up again, I'm sure he would be much higher price when I'd like to sell him off on a market.
Not too sure if I'd like to do that, he's my first little boy after all. We shall see!
Ohhh!! Higher level, more $CRYSTAL airdrop!
Almost forget but I think it's worth mentioning that the higher level will give you more $CRYSTAL.
What's $CRYSTAL anyways? so, Defi Kindom first started on Harmony ONE chain and now they are planning on expanding to a few other L1 chains.it will expand to Avalanche (AVAX) and will call the kingdom there Crystalvale. So besides $JEWEL, there will be some $CRYSTAL.
