Some of you will remember many of the DEVs and Andy from the ole Steem Dev Team started a new project called Koinos, (KOIN) after the split.
Many of us mined it when they decided to use ETH as the chain, and didn't jump into Hive some of the locals were annoyed, but I hadn't ever mined before and since they made such a nice easy miner I decided to give it a go.
The first week was amazing and I pretty convinced I'd be a whale, but as always happens someone who knew more and how to game it better came along and ruined the mining experience for most of us.
^ not my wallet but a screen shot I took from the Internet.
I held what I had and picked up a few more, at the time people were complaining about $10 ETH transaction costs and the combination of low success on mining and high transaction costs drove most of us out. Off topic for a second, but wouldn't it be nice to see $10 transaction fees on ETH again
I always like the Steemit, Inc developers though and Andy had a very rough role to play with Ned, so I decided to hold the tokens I mined.
I've been watching them post youtube videos and make the Pod Cast rounds and they have been getting some attention!
Three days ago Andy announced their testnet.2 (V2) and smart contracts are live.
Whether it was for the Testnet and Mana or just an everyday pump (unlikely on ETH) KOIN had a great day today. I took out my mining expenses and am leaving the rest ride.
Have you been following Koin?
