The Easter Triduum has begun with the Holy Thursday. It's a 3-day prayer in preparation for Easter and the last days of the Lenten season.
On this day, we commemorate and celebrate the Last Supper and the washing of the feet of some selected men in the church, where the priest washes their feet.
There is one particular song that is sung during this practice: link in comment.
**This is what Peter the disciple asked Jesus in John 13:6-9
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
May our prayers, fasting, meditations and almsgiving this Lent bring us answered prayers and grant our secret heart desires. Amen.
Happy Holy Thursday.
