A few years ago, my brother encouraged me to purchase some tokens and expand my portfolio on and off the blockchain. I was still a noob, more of a noob than I currently am, so I did little to no research and threw some money into random projects I noticed some hype around on Twitter.
Safe to say, I got rekt. However, it wasn’t a lot of money so I guess it was an easy pill to swallow. However, there was one token that my brother practically used my account to spend 50 $Hive on because of the belief he had in it - CUBLIFE.
I didn’t get the explanation around it but he told me it was an excellent investment so I went with it. CL did pretty well for a while and on some occasions, I’d talk to him about selling but he’d advise me to think about the future.
Well, the future is now. I got tagged on this post about selling off our CL tokens and I took the bait immediately. Regardless of the possible loss I’ve most definitely accrued after these years, it’s just nice getting rid of another token lying around uselessly.
I think sometime last year, I was privy to be informed about staking rewards on CL tokens, so I bet them but I obviously didn’t have so much so my tips were somewhat inconsequential. But yeah, they were rewards nonetheless.
I’m currently keeping my fingers crossed on the $GLX project too. I had some money to hanging around a few months ago after the sale of all my Splinterlands cards and I was in the market for some tokens again so my brother recommended and I spent $124 on them.
At the moment those tokens are worth $38 even after the loads of staking rewards I’ve received since the purchase. It’s quite frustrating but I’m mentally detached from it and simply hopeful for the best.
Moving forward, I’m most likely not going to hedge my bet on any more tokens. Any extra money I get will be saved in $HBD until things start looking up. I’m tired of the heartbreak and the hope.
