As a Health and Safety Officer, I know full well the dangers of fatigue. As a Production Manager, I understand full well the implications of production.
The same advice/thoughts/philosophy that I am about to speak about can be applied to anything. From blogging to soft skill projects.
So let us consider my example of Safety and Production as an analogy. Of course the results are always more visible and the dangers more real when we are talking about equipment falling out of the air and things catching fire.
When blood and broken bones are the result of failure.
Fatigue is not the same as tired.
Tired is running a sprint as fast as you can and being tired.
Fatigue is running a little, stopping, sprinting a little then running then lunch, then running and sprinting and running. After 5 days of this, you wake up tired. Try add in stress of danger hanging over your head. Someone might get hurt. Add to this to push of production and that the time allowance for the job is finite and the work must get done.
Now you will wake up fatigued. Your body sore, your head busy with a million things to think about and to make space for. Your shoulders are tight because you need to look for dangers and anticipate threats to health and wellness while countering them so production is not affected.
Being in a fatigued state means that you make more mistakes and you perceive less things.
You need to take the time to rest and recuperate. This is not just about taking days off. It is about structuring lunch time. It is also about taking a step back from each section of the job, planning it and discussing it with the team.
Complete this job before moving on to the next. This makes everyone aware of the problems and resolves the issues you face.
In any other project, there is a price for failure. There is a hazard to rushing from one project to the next without clearing your head.
Take the time to manage your mental fatigue. Especially in the crypto sector where FUD and FOMO are rife and people are emotionally challenged to make decisions.
And when this happens, it does not help to be fatigued.
I hope this post assists you in making the correct decisions when it comes to planning your Fatigue management.
