Yesterday I wrote a product review post for a new power tool I purchased; Product reviews are not something I've done much of and it probably wasn't a very good one...1817 words of me babbling on about power tools could be a little more than most people could take; Still, I enjoyed doing it and that's what really counts.
You can see the post for yourself right here if you're keen, maybe scroll through the photos or something like most do. In the text though I made an offer of 20 hive to the person who picked an error in one of my photos and it's this I am writing about today.
I had taken a picture of a wheel nut socket fitted to the power tool I'd bought, an impact wrench, or rattle gun as they are commonly referred to. The photo was simply to represent how the tool would work on my Landcruiser but in actual fact was a wheel nut fail.
I'd purchased the socket set along with the rattle gun and in it was a 17, 19 and 21 millimetre socket. I have a couple of cars and having sockets of varying sizes is required to fit them all.
But here's the thing...Everyone knows that the wheel nuts on the current model 200 Series Toyota Landcruiser are 22mm right? What? You didn't know?
Well now you do...They're big! But the problem was that the shop I went to didn't have a 22mm socket and because I was too lazy to go elsewhere I just went home thinking I'd get the 22mm socket at some other time. That time was today and you can see it pictured above in the main image...The green socket.
Interestingly the Trojan socket set was $28.98 for three sockets and the single 22mm socket was $18.95...Expensive, but what choice do I have but to get it?
So, I had used the 21mm socket for the purpose of my post yesterday and decided to make a game out of it to see who among you actually read my post and wanted a crack at 20 hive, and who was keen-eyed enough to actually see the problem.
There's the image I took yesterday below although it was presented in a collage of four images. So, can you see the issue now?
Well, could and he called it out! The wrong sized socket for the nut!
It's pretty obvious once you know right? That red socket is the 21mm socket and in the main image at the top you can see the 22mm socket performing it's job perfectly.
So, congratulations to the eagle-eyed for spotting it, and for actually reading my post and taking the time to have a try and the 20 hive. That has been transferred to your wallet mate, well done and thanks for playing.
