Since a very early age, I've always related to cars and driving with music, whether it's 2 or 3mph looking at the blackpool illuminations with banging tunes from the piano era of 90s or Bad Attitude - Meatloaf cruising along a motroway or one of favourites a country lane with an 80s mix.
Back in the 90s i used to be a big raver and lived the life that was associated with that, in fact i'm listening to a Judge Jules set from Angels Burnley 95, incdentally a mix of higher state of consciousness has just dropped.
With clubbing, raving - the undergound scene came modified cars, including under lighting neon, yes the things that are now making a come back.
This was a Ford Orion I bought and had a bodyshop fit an illusion kit, it was a project which i put through a fence and rolled down a 40ft embankment 6 weeks later, i'm still not completely clear on what happened, however I seriously started valueing life way more after this.
My cars were always modified not usually engine wise, as i 'd buy relatively powerful cars to start with, over 100bhp ranging to around 140, i'd add handling mods and an air filter, exhaust etc.
Primarily though would be nice set of wheels, wider than standard then an uprated suspension setup SPAX, Koni etc - infact the Mk2 Valver has a set of Koni dampers and H & R springs, old habits die hard.
In the 90s sound systems were also big business, meaning subs, 10, 12 and 15 inch subs, Alpine, Kenwood amps, Goodwood sticks in my mind a pop off unit that had buttons falling off, but it refused to quit, as long as the headunit offered RCA's or pre outs for an Amp you were all good, even if it didn't you could get round it.
I regularly attended biggish organised raves, Dreamscape, ARK, and the clubs that put on DJ nights Club Kinetic, Zone Venue Blackpool and randomly one that was 3 miles from the house the Warton Grange, a disco club that overnight started featuring massive DJ's such as SY.
I would travel the length and breadth of the UK to rave in my modified cars, which included Ford Orions with outlandish kits, Ford Fiestas and Veedub Golfs .
Today I love to just head out in a car, SUV etc and whack the tunes up and just drive, well it's not been that easy through the last year, I truly believe I have the best career in the world, driving virtually any car in the world, experiencing and talking about it.
Thnak you all, stay safe
