Audi has launched a new concept electric car called the Audi Skysphere with a very unique ability to extend and shorten. In its official statement, Audi said that this capability was created to provide two different sensations, namely the pleasure of driving in the style of a sports car and the comfort of driving in the style of a Grand Tourer.
To accommodate both, the Audi Skyspshere wheelbase can be lengthened and shortened. If you want to feel the sensation of the Grand Tourer, the Audi Skysphere driver just needs to switch the Sport model to GT mode. After that the wheelbase will stretch to 25 centimeters. Wheelbase which was originally at 4,940 mm to 5,190 mm.
The addition of these dimensions makes the Audi Skysphere much longer than the German car company's most expensive sedan, the Audi A8.
Conversely, if the driver wants to feel the sensation of a sports car again, then the driver just returns to Sport mode. After that the size of the car again shortened as before.
The move from Sport to GT doesn't just change the size of the wheelbase. When the transfer is made, the atmosphere or interior ambient of the car will also change. The interior atmosphere is much more shady when in the GT mode position. On the other hand, in Sport mode, the interior atmosphere changes to be more dynamic.
