I recently celebrated another year on this glorious Earth and with it, I took the time for some inner reflection. Looking back over the years, at how much I have grown, how much I have learnt.
Ever since, I made the decision to live a more minimalist life, to step out of the system and make my own way, all those years ago. Embarking on this wonderful journey of mine, I have come across some folk who seem to have been easily offended by me and my choices.
At the time it looked as though these folk where lashing out at me, for no other reason, than the fact that I was physically there, as though my very presence made them feel uncomfortable. Which in turn made me feel uncomfortable and I would end yup becoming withdrawn.
It's crazy how many times you spend analyzing things, only to eventually realize that it had nothing to do with you in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, I have upset people in the past, for genuine reasons, I wouldn't be human if I didn't. But this time, it was more about the choices that I was making, the fact that I was in not just talking the talk, but actually living it.
I have heard people say " I could never do that", so many times, or ask me how I manage to live how I live, seeing my life as being far more primitive than theirs. But at the end of the day, it all boiled down to the choices I made, it really is that simple.
It brought up a lot of questions for me, like how we can struggle at times when we see others succeed. It's not easy when you feel trapped, to see someone in front of you living their best life, living as free as we possibly can be.
How we feel, when we see others standing in their power and why it makes us feel uncomfortable, instead of celebrating with them. I mean if we do that, then we are inviting success into our lives, we are opening the doors to our own inner power!
Standing in front of someone who is really anchored in their truth, why do some of us feel so threatened by them? Where does this uncomfortable feeling come from?
Perhaps our reaction has to do with some unhealed trauma, or the fact that we do not believe we are powerful enough to make the change. Whatever that change may be. If so, then this is a perfect opportunity to look within. To explore all those uncomfortable places that we have created within ourselves. To begin doing the inner work, so that we can shine.
In these current turbulent times that we live in, where so much darkness is being unveiled, we need to be the light!
It doesn't help, that we have been conditioned to suppress our emotions, to even be afraid to feel, in fear of being seen as weak or out of control. Preventing us from having the opportunity to work through some of our challenges and grow.
Everyone that comes into our lives, has something to teach us, sometimes it comes with a lot of pain and some times it comes with a lot of joy. I personally, have been pushed and pulled, drained and fueled by the people that I have met, but they have all helped me to grow.
