Laughing at oneself and at the things that happen around us is necessary in order not to go crazy, or maybe we are already crazy and have not realized it. But I firmly believe that life without humor is a lost life.
Now, as a Venezuelan, I have learned to laugh at absolutely everything, it is something very typical of our culture, we get jokes even from the worst situations and we learn from childhood to laugh at ourselves. A few days ago, for example, I was with my husband doing some shopping for the week and I don't remember exactly why, but I do know that we were in a bit of a hurry.
This rushing around stresses me out a bit and sometimes it does not allow me to concentrate on what I am doing at that moment, because I have my mind on what I have to do next or what I have to solve, the point was that we were in a store where they sell fruits and vegetables to buy tomatoes, onions and other things and I was in a store where they sell fruits and vegetables to buy tomatoes, When my husband saw me, he was so distracted that I came out of the store with the basket that I used to select the things, when he saw me, he made an astonished face and then he started laughing, I did not understand the reason until I saw my hands, then I started laughing too, because I realized what I had taken out of the store and that I almost took it home.
On the other hand, I have lived horrible experiences like the one that because of a man who said he was divorced, and he was not, his jealous wife went to make a scene in my workplace, logically that was terrible for me, but from there came out specific situations of which both co-workers and I, we made jokes and that helped me overcome the shame.
I have learned to laugh at myself, at my mistakes, at my falls, at the nonsense that surrounds me, at what I do, at how I sometimes look dressed because when I gain weight I have to be careful with what I wear so as not to look like a badly tied hallaca and also not to take anything personally or I will live bitter.
Humor allows us to see the positive, the past that maybe was bitter, as something funny, it allows us to laugh at crazy things we do, like putting the cell phone in the fridge and taking what you had to keep there to the bedroom, so humor from my perspective must be present in every aspect of our life. In summary, this is my participation in the Weekend-Engagement #166. Greetings to all and may your life be filled with good humor.
