While reading this week's theme, I had to refrain from sharing stories about my writing hobby. Because it doesn't count. So what should I write? Fortunately, 
What hobby have you always wanted to do but never started - What appeals to you about it and why have you not had the chance to get involved with it.
But now, I'm confused about what to do next. I wanna be an expert in dancing, I wanna be an expert in knitting and embroidery. Ah! I know what I want to do to be my new hobbies: journaling and Postcrossing.
Yeah, I'm going to tell you about these two things. Journaling is an activity that I have been doing for a long time. Keeping a diary is something I do often, but journaling is a different way of telling stories. You can add some ornaments to your journal and interesting typography.
One day I attended an art journaling workshop via Zoom. I'm so excited to join it. The material presented is very interesting because we can decorate our journals with paper kits or scraps of paper from used magazines or newspapers that we have at home. At that time, I immediately took some magazines that I had and tried to make a journal according to what was taught.
And as a result... I have no creativity.
I was wondering if there is no minimalist journal that doesn't require too many accessories? I immediately asked a friend who has a hobby of journaling. He said that I could try minimalism journaling and gave me some art journal references on Instagram.
I also follow the hashtag #minimalistjournal as a reference if I want to make my journal later. Because writing in books and on digital platforms are two different things. I still want to continue writing in books, if with additional ornaments and made like a journal, it will be more interesting if one day I read it again.
I still want to make this a hobby. Please support me to do it hahaha. Minimalism Journal will be my new hobby. I'm not to do it so far because I'm still looking for a journaling style that fits my writing style.
Postcrossing is the new one.
The first time I got a postcard from a friend it felt really good. I did not expect that a postcard could arrive safely at my house even though the address was still in Indonesia. Several times when my friend sent postcards home, nothing ever arrived. Therefore, when one arrives, I feel very happy and touched.
Some of my friends like to collect postcards with cute pictures and photos they took somewhere. They also often tell me about Postcrossing communities where many people can join to exchange postcards and even go abroad. Wow, that seems interesting considering I don't have many friends overseas.
Getting to know other people by exchanging postcards through the community can be amazing. Especially foreigners who both like Postcrossing. From there, the desire arose to collect and try to send postcards to one of the Postcrossing members.
During this pandemic, of course, it's very nice to be able to exchange news with people who live outside our country, right?
But this hobby had to be postponed because the postal service in Indonesia, especially in my city, was not as good as in some big cities or other countries. So, I had to be patient and look for other alternatives while gradually accumulating a collection of postcards.
Yep, those are two things that have the potential to become my new hobby but have to be delayed. Hopefully one day I will have the opportunity to do so!
