For me, Andrea, each of our lives has a purpose and I don't see it associated with big things like being a messiah, a political leader or the great discoverer of the cure for a disease, in my opinion, the meaning of life is associated with the little things and with what fulfils us. For some people it may be their work, for others it may be their family life, it may even be something "banal" like simply making a living from art, and all of this adds up because if we all dedicate ourselves to the little things that fill us and help us, we will have a functional ecosystem.
Now then, the big question and the one that I asked myself for a long time:
what/which is MY purpose in life?????
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After many years of reflection and even a life that felt a bit grey, I can say with propriety and this is serving. Back in 2019, a very very depressed Andrea, needed some reason to distract herself, so she decided to write to a friend from university who was president of a Rotaract club, and it's incredible but it was like getting my 42*, I have never felt more fulfilled, more at ease and with more purpose than serving in the communities of my city with my club. It's even funny because there are people who tell me that if I don't get paid why I spend so much of my life doing this, but it's something you won't understand/feel if your purpose is not associated with working for others.
It is quite nice to see how this has even changed my perspective in my profession, because now I see law in a very different way and I have become interested in international humanitarian law, migration law, advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence, which when I was in university were not even close to being my favourite topics.
So yes, I believe faithfully that the purpose of life exists, that we all have one and that sooner or later we will find it and it will bring us a lot of joy, it will make us feel like we fit in and we can finally be a pro-active part of this ecosystem we call society.
Thank you for making it this far.
