Check out what made my weekend most memorable.
It was quite the moment, 8 little Border Collie puppies to pat, cuddle and goo gah over for 30 minutes on Saturday. It was the best fun for someone like me who loves little puppies. All they wanted to do was to crowd under feet and legs. It was one of this melting moments for me who has had 3 pet dogs over a lot of years.
I was there because my husband and I offered to drive my son an hour up the highway to meet with a breeder. He and his girlfriend are wanting to check out a blue merle puppy.
Border Collies are highly intelligent, diligent, agile, easy to train, friendly and eager to please. There are a variety of different types for interested buyers to choose; black and white, blue black and white, blue merle, red etc.
The mother a blue merle and the father a red collie's traits ticked all the boxes. They were calm, easy going and friendly. The 5 week old 2 black and white puppies and 6 blue merle's showed to be alert, active and gorgeously soft. Blue merle's are a mixture of black, white and grey hues with blue eyes.
My son was happy with the puppies, the breeder and paid a deposit and will be able to pick up the little male blue merle at this venue in 3 weeks.
Once we said good bye to the breeder and her Border Collie parents and puppies we drove into a quiet Gympie. Shops were closed but we managed to find one pub opened and enjoyed a leisurely celebratory lunch before heading back to the Sunshine Coast.
Saturday was a good day
