After a week in Sydney the American side of the family flew into Brisbane to relax and enjoy quality time with their nearest and dearest family. Part of their two week Queensland holiday stay included a week at an upmarket luxury Air BnB at Sunrise Beach, which just happens to be 30 kms up the road from my place.
The catch up was definitely a special highlight for us in a couple of ways this weekend and so glad that we made the effort to spend time with family we have not seen for a couple of years. The 20 minute drive was quick and easy from our place to their week long Air BnB home built on hill overlooking the surf beach, the same rugged open beach that happens to be across the road from my home.
We were certainly in for an adventure with the highly appealing funky magnificently spacious open living designed holiday destination. Wow, who wouldn't want to spend a week in this place? The cost during the off season is only $1,700 a day. Much more affordable than the highly expensive in season time. Certainly worth thinking about!
The size of this house allowed everyone a lot of privacy with bathrooms in each of the six bedrooms.
No matter if the day is windy, cloudy and rainy as it was on Saturday, it does not matter with the beach and ocean view from the kitchen/dining room/lounge room areas.
Even though this home is a part of a retreat behind a gate with other large up market homes it was very quiet and private. It was definitely a clever design even though we noticed that the other homes appeared empty. Perhaps they were also let out as Air BnBs too.
A large pool and fun adult twirly slide entertained the young men in the party. They went much slower when taking little ones down for a ride.
So many appealing little touches had been put into the decoration of this house, like this little glass section of the floor.
We were told by my American niece that this house was the only one in the retreat with a piece of lawn. It was certainly large enough for a a game of cricket or football.
We said our goodbyes after several hours of happy chatting and toasts of champagne. Life is too short not to touch base with each other when we can and now thankfully, the world is opening up giving us the freedom and opportunity to re-connect once again after the extended covid pandemic lockdown. Never again will I take the freedom to travel for granted!
