Dressed up for a party lunch coming together on Saturday, yesterday at a Gold Coast restaurant. Covid worries were put to one side, it was a family celebration for a special girl. The planning was carried out in secret, a surprise was considered the best, she knew something was happening but not exactly what it would be or where.
Hush little squirrelly whispers flowed for a couple of weeks, all the family members were in the know about the reservation details, happily lending helping hands sharing the excitement for our birthday girl who will be so surprised and delightful.
The Beatles song Coming 'Together Right Now Over Me' kept playing in my head and blaring from the stero, the only way to play this music.
Some of us had to travel down the highway one, two and three hours so staying a couple of nights or three was in order. The day arrived, the ladies wore dresses full of flowers and the men in their shirts of different shades of blue, all totally unplanned coming together wearing smiles, feeling the love and carrying gifts with bows.
The feast at the Hideaway Kitchen & Bar at Broadbeach was everything and more, the Asian style food was scrumptious with spring rolls, soft yummy pasta parcels, oyster bites and angel hair, green curry and fried rice, beef and vegetables satisfied our appetite to the full. Sipping on white wine and beer we chatted, laughed and joked, such a nice coming together.
The specially made pretty pink cake with a creative array of pink and white cronucula flowers was the ultimate surprise for the lovely birthday girl. We laughed at seeing the cake a little lopsided thinking that it was not put in the fridge for a couple of hours. It tasted so good!
Our singing happy birthday rang out around the restaurant before we hoed into the sugary delight.
