I know you can't breathe or smell the sounds, but in my case when I am in nature I close my eyes and the beautiful sounds of nature invade me. The senses are heightened.
I searched my memory for a few moments, recalling the best weekends I have ever had and I think many of them have been days spent in nature, especially on Sundays.
It's usually a more relaxed day and I love to be without a fixed schedule and what better than spending it in nature, where I usually lose track of time.
Many are my favourite weekends, but if I have to name only one, it was the first day I got to know the botanical garden of the city. Although there are three gardens of this style, containing numerous species, especially of vegetation, the one outside the city, the furthest away, is the most beautiful and the largest.
I remember it was a few years ago, although I have been there several times, and when I entered it I felt I was transported out of the world.
What I like most about spending a weekend in nature is walking very slowly and quietly along the paths that this garden offers me, being able to smell the moss that is formed by the humidity, to feel that humidity in the air that I breathe while I close my eyes and I can hear nature.
To hear it in its fullness, from the birds singing, to the rays of sunlight that sneak through the branches of the trees, and to see each path, to lose myself in them and find myself again. It is the closest thing to a journey or an inner walk. We come from nature and towards it we go, in it are all the answers to everything. We just have to let it speak and listen to it and listen to ourselves.
The effect it has is to clear the mind and by not thinking about anything, the real appears. Some people I suppose will understand me.
I remember that Sunday, I walked every path, I explored it, I enjoyed it, every path in that paradise that had transported me to another world. A lot of vegetation was all around me, as if it was a mixture of forest, jungle, a beautiful tropical world. I had never seen anything like it, and I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but I hadn't seen it, so it was like having died and being in paradise. But without dying...
It was a perfect day, in a perfect place, because nature is perfect. I couldn't tell which bird each sound belonged to, but I know there were many around me hidden in the trees and I could hear the water of small waterfalls. Feeling at one with nature is the greatest thing in the world.
I have visited and been to many other natural places such as the sea, forests, mountains, but if I have to highlight one place where I have experienced all this in one weekend, the botanical garden La Concepción, that is the one.
What about you? What has been your best weekend in nature? Which place in nature do you like the most? What do you feel?
This and other topics are part of the great list of weekend topics that always creatively proposes to us. Thank you very much for that and thanks to all of you for joining me today. I hope you have a great weekend.
