A creative mind depends on a great imagination and this is not only true for art but for all areas of life.
Many times, since I have known my best friend, who is like my sister, for more than 28 years now, she has repeated to me ad nauseam: God gave you all the imagination and me none, only you can think of putting your eyes in the sky or anywhere.
After all this time, of course I have seen other artists who put eyes in many of their works, intermingled with nature, for example. Eyes have always caught my attention mainly because of their meaning, the window to the soul and seeing beyond the obvious.
But my friend is absolutely right, my imagination never stops. When I'm imagining a design I want to do in Photoshop, which takes a lot of work, step by step with the mouse, I like to do everything myself, even an oil painting, I always think of more things and I have to write them down because there are so many that I can forget them later.
Since I was a child, my imagination has flowed naturally. When I was very little I imagined crazy, fantasy things and many times that has helped me in a not so good reality.
Why I have it is a good question, I think it's natural, I was born with it, I don't think you can learn it. But not only for art but for any circumstance in life, imagination helps me to look for different alternatives to a problem, for example.
Imagination is good in the kitchen too, inventing new foods, that's another example.
It is what makes me create, invent, be creative in everything in my life, look for ways, explore, investigate, be curious about everything, learn. I imagine something and immediately I come up with something else.
I always say I don't know the word boredom, because my mind is always there with imagination. When people tell me... I'm bored... I say to myself... how can that be? If I am for example resting my mind already has images that it is seeing, thinking, ideas.
That same imagination is what gives me ideas for many things, fixing things at home, meals, crafts, problem solving, a better way to something, whatever. Without it I don't know what I would do. In turn it drives me, excites me, encourages me. It is my great propellant. Yesterday I spoke in my work about being emotion, but I am two things emotion and imagination and I think both are permanently related in my work.
Imagination helps in new projects, it looks for the best way to realise them, it gives alternatives and can visualise their realisation, that's the best thing of all. Imagination is part of my life, I am myself.
