The time has come with some preparations set. Yesterday, I went to a plant nursery with my mom and an aunt (my uncle's wife), in order to get some soil and other stuff. She ended up getting an early Mother's Day gift in form of a plant. A beautiful thing. I'll make a post about the flowers in the garden just to highlight some of the collection my mom has brought up.
However, my attention was commandeered by a lovely cat that wanted to play looking for some petting. I have to say she almost came back home with me. Almost, because I'm not a guy of pets, but I can play with other pets. This is the equivalent of being and uncle. You know, playing with kids and returning them to their parents in due time.
This lovely creature's name is Anastasia. The ladies in the plant nursery were shocked at the cat's loveliness towards me. As they say, well, she behaves like a cat not wanting to be pet until it pleases. This isn't weird in these animals. I guess it seems we are a little bit alike because I can be very catlike sometimes. So, while the ladies were up saying their things and my mom and aunt were looking at their plants, I was playing with lovely Anastasia and she was enjoying her time.
But the reason of going out to this trip was to get something I bought for Mother's Day. Recently a friend of mine started a business. He's selling sweets. I remember he used to work in a bakery and I guess he got onto his own. I had tasted some donoughts and they were amazing. So, I asked if he made cakes and he told me he makes minicakes. That's fair enough. So I ordered a pineapple cake with some other sweets. 8$ for it sound like a deal. And since I know he's sweets are good, it was a o brainer.
I've always felt a bit down not giving anything on mother's day. There aren't even presents from the time I was in school back at home. For some reason, all of mine had suffered accidents. Earlier this year, my mom restored an old one. It is Sun made in clay and painted yellow. She sanded it and repainted it. Also changed its position so the coat lasts longer. While she was doing it, she was telling me about the present. She thought it was mine. And I had to remind her, it's her favorite's. But that's how things go in families, right?
Recently, I gave her a jumping rope because she wanted to start working out a bit. But she hasn't started. There's always an excuse. I think it wouldn't be the same if my brother had sent the same thing back from Mexico. Well, it will go as it has too.
Anyway, this is a day to remind our mothers, biological or not. And specifically those who have been mothers that they are awesome, we love them and care for them. I hope all of you have had the time to do something for them. Even if it is just remembering them. As loved ones stay with us longer in memory than they do in physical form.
I can't think of a better way of finishing the weekend than a celebration so refreshing as this one. Any excuse to bring families together is a good cause.
Happy mother's day to all the HIVE-moms, and those whose children populate this corner of the decentralized network!
You're awesome and always stay so!
