Hello Hivers! I'm finally back to writing after a five-month hiatus—it's been a while, and I've truly missed it. I wanted to share details about the day off I had yesterday. While my usual day off is Sunday, my daughter (who covers for me at work) wasn't busy with school on Saturday, so we decided to swap our days off.
I realized I had left my phone at work when I arrived home last Friday. Due to the bad weather, I didn't want to waste time going back, so I decided to retrieve it on Saturday morning instead. My daughter and I rode my motorcycle to my workplace. After getting my phone, I took the opportunity to buy some food for lunch. Fortunately, someone was selling beef, which was a lucky find since there had been a shortage of pork after Christmas and New Year due to African Swine Fever (ASF).

When I arrived home, I got busy with several chores. I washed the dishes and cooked the beef I had purchased. I also cleaned up our bed because I had left the house early that morning. Additionally, I prepared the spring rolls (lumpia), which I hadn't been able to finish rolling on Friday night due to running out of wrappers. I made sure to buy more wrappers when I had a chance to visit the market.
My husband and I are currently undertaking our biggest project yet: the construction of our bedrooms. While I was busy cleaning the house, he was working on the building. We still require additional funds to complete this project.
For lunch that day, we had beef soup. Since I no longer eat rice, I only had two boiled eggs, some vegetable spring rolls (lumpia), and the beef.
The lack of water supply prevented me from doing the laundry that day. Instead, I used the time to clean the kitchen cabinet, which was necessary as small ants had infested the items stored inside.
With my husband occupied with construction, I took the opportunity to climb the nearby mountain and capture some good photos of our surroundings.
I took the opportunity while in our front yard to photograph the plants we are growing, specifically our bell pepper and chili plants. I'm also planning to sell the lemons we have in a pot soon. Furthermore, I've recently started germinating some bell pepper seeds.
Ending thoughts: That concludes the activities for the day. My husband and I certainly had a busy but productive time.
The day was busy and tiring, but also fulfilling.
