The lack of inspiration is hard to bear and I kept thinking and wondering where it could come from. I think because of an inner disorder and a convenience given by the fact that the multitude of contests and challenges often offer an easy solution to the situation.
Although I've decided to bypass these easy sources from now on and give more chances to my own creativity, I can't pass over the proposals made by for #Weekend-Engagement[Week 120].
Colors for the weekend. Green and blue. If you want to see more and possibly pick a topic for a post, HERE are all the details!
Two colors were suggested and, funnily enough, these are my favorite colors!
Favorite color
I didn't have a favorite color. I didn't think to pick one. After this question came up in many discussions with friends, I started asking myself what my favorite color was. I was oscillating between green and blue but leaning more towards green. But my passion for the sea has definitely tipped the scales towards blue!
However, why blue?
To use some all-too-familiar comparisons and characterizations, because blue is of the sky and the sea. That's right, I love to look at the clear sky and my passion so unsatisfied is the sea!
I also read a more informed opinion that says... "blue is known for bringing a sense of trust and stability". So be it!
Blue is a cool color!
For me, it has the opposite effect...Whenever I think of the blue of the sea I feel heartwarming!
I haven't had the good fortune to travel much outside my home country, Romania. When I was young and had the curiosity and strength to do it, my country had a totalitarian communist regime that did not allow its residents to go abroad. My country has an exit to the sea but our sea is called the Black Sea. As the name suggests, it's not really blue. The true blue of the sea I saw in the Aegean Sea when I made my first trip to the island of Thassos. A true wonder, a piece of land, I mean more rock, surrounded by endless blue waters. True blue!
To get to Thassos, I have to drive almost 800 km through Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece. A route that has less than 25% highway, the rest only one laneway road, leading to a very tiring journey to the ferry boarding place.
After boarding the ferry all the tiredness disappears and the blue of the sea makes my heart beat faster and faster (of course, the excitement of being on a boat, an unusual situation for me, contributes) and I feel an inexplicable warmth embracing my whole body. It's that moment when I know that next week I'm going to be the man of the sea. One week a year.
After half an hour of sailing by ferry, we can see the island, still far enough away to be blue like the sea. Thassos was, is and I think will remain the maximum of marine beauty for me!
Unfortunately, this offer of an idea to write comes with some conditions. The one that confuses me the most is that I can only use two of my photos. I found quite a few in my archive and found it hard to choose and was also left with the fear that I didn't choose the best one.
