To answer a question about some preferences, it is necessary to experience or live them, as in the case of pets and this is my case. I have had both dogs and cats at home and both dogs and cats have their specific qualities in my understanding. When I had dogs, I loved their loyalty, because whatever I did, whether I was in the mood or not, my dogs always received me with love and gratitude, no hard feelings, always with their happy tails.
Their love was unconditional; on the other hand, they force us to go for a walk with them, it is something established, if you have a dog you know that you have to walk them so that they are healthy and do their needs properly; this helps you also to have a healthy routine, like going out to get sun, exercise, regardless of your mood and as a character in a comic movie says “Whether you want to or not” ha, ha, ha, ha. Dogs have the gift of sensing your emotions and calming you down, if necessary. I saw it with my dogs, that's why I always appreciated their company.

But then my outlook changed and took a tremendous turn. I got divorced, changed my residence. When that happened, my dog stayed with my ex because where I moved I couldn't keep him; both my dog and I suffered horrors... time passed, my dog got sick and died. Then I decided not to have any more pets, it was a difficult time; but as nothing stops, everything goes on and my life again took off to new horizons, I got married again, I had new children and they asked my new husband and me for a pet, but we were hesitant about it because we knew the responsibility that comes with having a pet.
And everything that has to be taken into account: spaces, schedules, medical and family care. Until after my children's pleas and the advice of some protectionist friends, I decided to adopt a cat; after researching everything about them and making sure we had everything we needed, that's how Aurora arrived at our house. Her personality was so different, from the beginning she was affectionate, but always keeping and taking care of her personal space. The family found her attitudes so funny and at the same time we identified so much with her, because she adapted to each one of us.
Aurora
She goes with the one who is sick, with the one who is down, with the one who is tired and accompanies the one who is busy. Example: if my children are doing their homework, Aurora is there. Someone is cooking, there she is and when we are all gathered in the middle there she is. She has become part of the family. But then came the moment when we felt, that apart from us, she needed a suitable companion and we decided to adopt another cat, Simba Raspicuim and it was the best thing, because both are two polar opposites and at the same time they complement each other perfectly.
Simba Raspicuim is crazy and super fun, he loves to be on top of everyone, no matter if you want him to or not. Ha, ha, ha, ha including Aurora, which she sometimes doesn't like and ends up pushing him away, but he doesn't mind hahahaha, but the important thing is that in the end both complemented each other perfectly and most importantly with the family. So I can conclude that both dogs and cats have been in my life at different times and I have loved them both, because they are special. So both times between dogs and cats have seemed great to me.
