It is worth noting that after I graduated with a degree in computer science, I was unable to find work in the private sector, as most companies required experience and, having only just graduated, I found this difficult. In view of this, I started working for myself; I bought a computer and a printer so I could carry out computer-based work. This was a great experience, carrying out work at secondary school, university and postgraduate level.
Furthermore, as this work is done on a computer, some people think they can come and request any kind of service, even if it involves breaking the law. On one occasion, a client came in with a copy of a school-leaving certificate and asked me to alter some of the details on it. I told him I don’t do that sort of work, because it’s illegal and if I were found out, I could end up in prison for doing something illegal.
One of the things you simply must not do is break the law, because if you get involved in that sort of work, word will get around that I was the one forging documents, and I wasn’t going to accept that sort of thing, as it would tarnish my reputation. We must act responsibly when carrying out our work. You might make some money in the short term, but it won’t be enough to pay for a solicitor if you’re arrested by the police.
In the end, it is better to earn a modest income and be honest, so as not to be tempted to break the law.
I hope you liked it, see you in a next post.
