Hello everyone, what are you planning to do this weekend?
I choose an outdoor activity. I've spent the whole week working indoors so I have to go out for the weekend to refresh myself. I am fortunate to live in a city where there are many options for weekend activities in many locations such as the sea, rivers, mountains, streams, fields and bustling central business district. And this weekend I chose to go to the beach. There is one outdoor activity that both me and my dogs love, and that is SUP paddling in the ocean. 🏝
Where did we go?
We chose Tien Sa beach. Why did I choose this beach? During this season, the waves are quite big on most of the beaches in our city, so finding a quiet beach is not easy. I chose Tien Sa beach because it is a suitable beach for SUP paddling in this season. It is a beach hidden behind and surrounded by Son Tra Peninsula, so the sea here is quite calm, making it a great place to enjoy rowing SUP in this season. Although it is quite far from my house, about 10km, the motorbike ride across the city from my house to this beach is an interesting journey to see everything around. 🏔
What did we do there?
Although this is the rainy season, and it has rained a lot this past week, fortunately it was nice during the weekend. When we got there and at 3pm it was still quite sunny so we walked around to explore the beach. In addition to the long and wide sandy beach, which is great for physical activity and sunbathing, there is also a rocky beach that is home to quite a few different types of marine life. Quite a few people spent their weekends there catching seafood like seaweed, sea snails and fish. My dogs also seemed eager for the weekend, following me up the tall rocks despite their short legs. I guess, after this trip, they don't need nail services. 😁
Back to our main activity today, which is SUP rowing. After about an hour of walking around exploring the beach, the sun had softened, which was the perfect time for us to start paddling SUP. My dogs have ridden SUP with me a few times before, so as soon as I put the SUP in the water, they jumped on the SUP. Look, they're really professional SUP riders, aren't they? It was the first time in quite a while that I rowed SUP again, so I was also very excited. 😺

We went one lap along the coast. After that, I decided to take a little risk to paddle farther from the shore so I could watch the sunset behind the mountain. Occasionally, some passing canoes send waves crashing into our SUP and causing it to wobble, but we still enjoyed the thrill. When we were about 500m from the shore, we had a spectacular view of the sunset. Wow that's an indescribable feeling. Alone with my dogs floating in the ocean and watching the sunset, I couldn't expect anything better for the weekend. We were there enjoying the vastness of nature before heading back to shore as the sun began to dip behind the horizon. 👌
I was very satisfied with this weekend's SUP ride, and so were my dogs, I'm sure. In addition to being able to go out into nature to breathe fresh air and enjoy the beautiful view, riding SUP on the sea after a long time made us very satisfied. How's your weekend? Please share with us. 👋
