Hello, dear weekend family, I hope you are all well.
I wanted to share with you my experience on Sunday, 14 December, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a few blocks from my home. In the distance, we could see beautiful, enchanting lights, whose glow came from the state's Bolívar Square. Normally, such places are located in the city centre, and like all curious people, we wanted to (my family and I) wanted to enjoy the view and break out of our usual routine.
For those unfamiliar with Trujillo, it is one of Venezuela's Andean states, colloquially known as the town of two streets, characterised by its tradition and artistic culture, working hand in hand with the governor's office and the mayor's office, which are the main sources of employment.
Both entities are located around the square in the central sector, the main parish. Graphically, the governor's office is on the upper side of the square, occupying most of that block, and the mayor's office is on the lower side, diagonally across from the famous Panadería Española, C.A. Both entities stood out for their beautiful Christmas decorations.
In turn, Plaza Bolívar awakens more than one with its decoration full of creativity and ingenuity, with silhouettes working hand in hand with lighting at key points, such as corners, edges, and above the grass, providing an atmosphere in keeping with the season, very pleasant, full of tradition and joy under a very cool climate.
A very comprehensive effort on the part of the state government, highlighting that spark of joy despite the difficult times.
Among the silhouettes that caught my attention the most and made me rewind my childhood were the gifts whose ribbons looked like hearts, their bows at the ends of the fountain, (which wasn't lit, which was a big mistake), but highlighting the most iconic ones were the arches whose artistic shapes depicted the nativity scene, stars, Christmas trees, angels, candies, among others, surrounded by different shades, special settings for taking the 2025 souvenir photo.
I love to leave that memory in physical form, because we are not always like we are today, hehehe, time passes in the blink of an eye. And the little details like going out as a family, sharing and enjoying any sweet treat make it wonderful.
Once we had completed our family tour of the square, which was magical because it was the first time our son had accompanied us, we headed to the governor's office, whose façade is charming. It remains open late because they have created the traditional nativity scene, which is the best ever.
Detailing the nativity scene, they played with the relief of the beautiful mountains that surround the radiant and luminous Christmas night with the traditional stable, under various creative scenarios with recycled materials and natural resources, simulating that time, with large and striking figures, where faith and tradition are mixed in one place.
Surrounded by shepherds and sheep, Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth to men of good will, words my grandmother used to say every time she appreciated beauty of this level.
It all ended with laughter, surrounded by photos, videos and beautiful ideas for making our nativity scenes at home.

I hope you enjoyed our tour, see you next time.

Blessings.
