I tell you that this weekend I left the routine and went on Saturday to visit the land of the city of Los Caballeros, to enjoy the tranquility and hospitality of its beautiful people, along with my partner and sister-in-law.
Venturing the beautiful landscapes that characterize the Venezuelan paramo, we enjoyed the weather and vegetation in a span of 4 hours to reach Merida, my native city where I was formed and I spent the best years as a student, we resided in the valley sector and in that stretch we admired the diversity of flowers and birds or better known as hummingbirds being the agents of distribution of pollen for the reproduction of plants, which in biology we know as pollination.
Every episode in our story has a background and wanting to be quiet to think and make plans is necessary at any stage of life, so on Sunday we woke up with a craving to admire nature, we looked for the number of the promoters of the house of the angel of the sun, known as the house of the hummingbird on social networks precisely on Instagram and we acquired a reservation.
In the chat they detailed the logistics according to the scenarios to explore and we chose the direct contact with the hummingbirds, agreeing the hour they indicate us the cost of the entrance being 5$ the equivalent to 125 sovereign bolivares, according to the rate of the central bank of the day 07/05.
For things of the destiny we arrived 20 minutes late, in the journey we breathed pure air because it surrounded us a beautiful landscape of cloudy jungle, exactly in the zone of Monterrey with all the thermal floors arriving at the place, the catire was more brilliant than ever, so with sorrow we arrived to present ourselves, visitors had already arrived so they waited for us before opening the evening.
Very cordially we were attended by a group of young people, who made us go to the main façade of the chalet type house where they have a trained staff in the area, being mentors of the Illustrious University of the Andes of the Faculty of Sciences mention Biology, therefore they give masterly talks according to each natural scenario that embraces us from its flora and fauna.
First of all they give us tips on the flowers that are composed of several parts, being the calyx, corolla, stamen and pistil, information that I have not handled since primary school and it is interesting to remember for general culture, its colours are the attractions of the hummingbird among its appetizers are the flowers myrtle, aretillo, muicle, shrimp, wild lemon balm and lavender.
Hummingbirds have sharp wings, they are excellent fliers, they have small bodies of various shades according to their family, they fly backwards and backwards, they have a chromatic view.
According to several studies by the biology department, 58 species of hummingbird have been diagnosed by means of a direct contact praxis (specialists - hummingbird) who place an identification and control ring on one of their legs to detect the different families, They reproduce twice a year and are very receptive to human beings. Once they explain the origin of this beautiful bird, they take us to the terrace where they lend us some containers in the shape of a flower, which inside have their artificial food, being water with sugar, so that the hummingbirds come closer to consume the pollen, the specialists give us instructions on how to use the container with the shape of the position of our fingers, to give confidence to the same.
Talks that make us proud that we are in a temple of blessed lands that in spite of so much deforestation there are animals in danger of extinction where both children and adults enjoy a natural environment in every sense of the word.
After the direct contact with the birds, which we have no time limit, if the artificial pollen runs out we can ask for more and so on, by our own choice we spent approximately 3 hours which flew by.
Then we went to the interior of the house, where we cancelled the tickets and admired the souvenirs such as bracelets, shirts, plants and an infinite number of details from Merida, as you can see.
Apart from that, there is a snack service with hot drinks, coffee, chocolate, infusions, biscuits, and desserts according to the occasion, among tastes and colours.
