Greetings, dear Hivers.
In challenge 278, I select number #3, which is:
Share your hobby, something you do for pleasure (not something you do at work).
When it comes to hobbies, from a very young age, drawing and decorating have filled me with joy. Designing, creating and assembling are innate skills that I had somewhat forgotten due to my pregnancy and now, in the postnatal period, my thoughts fly to the surface to represent the beauty, purity, fragility and harmony of life in all its stages.
Coincidentally, last week, my beloved mother, who is a primary school teacher, asked me to help her with an illustrated poster to welcome Christmas to her classroom.
So I looked for seasonal animated figures and grouped them together, showing the classic Christmas symbols that never go out of style: the lush Christmas tree, the reindeer, Santa Claus, and the snowman, which you will see later. It is worth noting that in the hivearte community, under the title @emily22/bienvenida-la-navidad-en-clases-2025-esp-eng I described my steps, which was a very entertaining and enjoyable task, as it is the most eagerly awaited time of year for the little ones in the house and even for big kids like me. (I have always believed that one should never lose that childlike spirit we carry inside) and once we have a family, we get to relive those magical moments, with respect, of course.
Although I should feel a little sad about the meaning, as it is literally one year less on earth. But hey, if we enjoyed the season as children, our offspring also deserve to experience a dreamlike time and the arrival of gifts by magic.
Many will say, ‘It's too early to decorate the hall for that time of year,’ and that's true, but in Venezuela, the presidential order was given to start decorating.
So, getting back to the subject, I used cold paints, wooden and wax crayons, markers, correction fluid and glitter. I didn't have a wide range of colours to choose from, but at least I had the basics and managed to make do with all the materials, applying various strokes in a uniform direction.
Drawing takes time, dedication and perseverance, and once completed, it reflects what we carry in our hearts. That's how I think. I also love drawing anime, landscapes and sketches that fill me with tranquillity, peace and reflection.
And so begins a new chapter in my life, God willing. The activity lasted two hours, so I didn't have time to get bored on the way there.
When I finished, my mother's smile filled me with satisfaction for the work I had done for her, and that was my best reward.
I'll end my post with the phrase: life has different chapters. A bad chapter does not mean the end of the story.
See you another time. Blessings!
I used Canva and the Deepl translator as my language is Spanish.
